Serenity 2019 - 1/10
I got talked into watching this last night. I had read all the bad reviews and had avoided it for quite some time. However, the trailer looks soo good.
This is definitely in the running for worst movie ever in the category of really bad movies that were attempting to be really good movies.
|
First 30 minutes is OK, the setup, even tho theres a few hints here and there of what’s to come. The second 30 minutes is where the reveal is, where you realize how ridiculous this story is and you have to process just Why? Why? Then you deal with questions like, why would McConaughey and Hathaway would agree to this. The Last 30 minutes is just where you want to see how bad it will get, so you hang around and watch it burn and just laugh. |

I thought you were talking about the Firefly movie for a second and got excited. Then I saw the score you gave it and got a little angry and then noticed the year and now I don't have an opinion. lol

I just watched the French film Nothing to Hide (2016) on Netflix. It was pretty amusing, it held my attention the entire time, mostly because I had to read subtitles but such a simple premise and I was hooked. I wasn't sure I liked the ending but I'd recommend it. It goes by fast. It's apparently a remake of an Italian film called Perfect Strangers or something like that.

I might watch this tonight. Mystery/Thriller sounds good, horror, not so much, so indeed who knows.

The Rental 2020 4/10
|
This is sold as a Mystery/Thriller Horror. Well there’s certainly nothing thrilling about it and very little mystery or horror. I enjoyed Alison Brie in Glow and thought she did ok with what little she had to work with here. The story is mundanely boring and predictable in the first half of the movie And is painfully slow. The dog is by far the most interesting character. As I said very little mystery and no thrills. Then when the horror Finally shows up, it’s over so fast. This would have been better served in an episode of tales from the crypt. |

Host
one of the most genuinely terrifying horror movies I think I've ever seen. For a Zoom/Quarantine horror, it really nailed the concept for me. It's so much more tense and frightening than anything you'd see like Unfriended. I genuinely felt like I was on a zoom call watching this shit happen. | nav is ugly and i am pretty |
