Joseph Takagi was angry. These thugs had come up into his place of business, and were now holding his employees hostage. He would have none of this.
"I demand to talk to your leader" he said, to the eastern European guy holding a sub-machine gun near the fountain.
The terrorist led Mr. Takagi into one of the offices where Hans Gruber sat, feet up, on Takagi's own desk.
"Mr. Takagi, what can I do for you?" he asked with a smirk.
"You can tell me why you are here, and you can let my people leave."
"As for the second part, I'm sorry, I can't do that quite yet. For the first, it has to do with all the bearer bonds you have locked up in your safe."
"If you want the combination to the safe from me, you'll never get it."
"That's what I thought you'd say. One last chance?"
Joe chose not to respond. He just stared directly into Hans' face, unwavering in his resolve.
"Fine, have it your way."
And with that, Hans pulled out a pistol, and fired one quick bullet into Mr. Takagi's chest. He was dead before he hit the floor.
