me
liked it, it was fun revisiting these characters/this setting again. Story-wise it was p unnecessary since I felt like Jesse's original ambiguous ending worked just as well, but it didn't detract from the series either. It was just a fun footnote

tbh TODD kinda stole the show for me, he was fucking great. I've always liked Jesse Plemons but I was never crazy about Todd as a character, I felt like he was able to have way more fun with it here. His whole casual conversation with Jesse about the dead housecleaner was p gr8
Best scene for me though was the DUEL, that was SICKKK. You could tell Gilligan was giddy to get that in there after all the cues he's taken from Westerns for this series. Also the guy that played the main welder was great, definitely stood out as the best new character in this
Walt scene was a nice 'surprise', it was funny seeing meek-ish Walt again cuz we rewatched the finale right before this. Cranston was instantly able to sell where he was in his arc just by his mannerisms
Kinda like the series itself, p obvious ending but the journey was the fun part :') |

I liked it. It was about what I expected.
|
Even though Jesse found himself in a ton of dangerous situations I never felt like he was in any danger. Seemed obvious to me he was going to make it to Alaska...but that didn't bother me so much. As Boc said, it's the journey that counts.
I thought it was slow to start with, but once it got going it was very enjoyable. Obviously the duel was the standout scene. I also thought the scene at the vacuum cleaner store was great. Todd was very entertaining but his character came across more goofy compared to the series. His scenes were very funny though so that made up for it. |

Also really liked it
|
Nearly review I've read uses the same word: unnecessary. But never really in a bad way at all. I agree with it. His ending was pretty much perfect but this didn't detract from it at all. So WHY NOT make it! It was fun and very well made and that alone warranted its existence
It was more or less what I was expecting. I didn't really think it'd be so heavily about the IMMEDIATE fallout of his story and what he has to do to deal with it. Just running into obstacle after obstacle. I thought it'd move past that quickly and then be more about him trying to adjust several years later which could've been interesting to see, but I liked this take too. It'll be a nice thing to watch immediately after the final if (when) I do a full series rewatch
It didn't feeeeel like a movie but didn't feel like a longer episode either, it was weird. I felt weird ranking it against the other 2019 movies I've seen because it's so different. It feels difficult to make a movie epilogue of a tv show when the audience is so used to many many hours spent building up arcs but now you've suddenly just got two hours
Vince killed it tho. His visual storytelling is some of the best in the bizzzzzzzz. Certainly the best in the tv business imo. Lots of great shots here, tense moments, great acting from everybody, vibe and tone were just right, etc. It was really well made. I wanna see Vince move on and direct a movie now, he's gonna do great
Lots more flashbacks than I was expecting but they were welcomed. I loved seeing everyone. Agreed that Cranston slipped right into the mindset of Walt at that time seamlessly, he's so good. Todd was perfect. "Do you want to say something?" ".....no?". I lol'd hard. Also the body in the carpet being dropped from the balcony, Todd getting his belt and putting it back on, all of it. He's such a good and noticeably fatter character
The letter to Brock at the end was sad ;__;. Fuck Brock tho (dylan)
Robert Forster's death is extra sad now, he was really good in this as vacuum man
Jessie appearing behind the mattress with the gun pointed at the 'cop' and the duel at the end were highlight tense moments
AND MY BOY. SKINNNYYYYYY PEEEEEETE. What a great friend. The MVP of the series right there everyone
When the credits rolled I was thinking that I want MOOOOOORE which is funny considering the 'unnecessary' tag it keeps getting. I do hope it ends with Saul but I thought this was a lot of fun |

I will say, I know that it was a quieter movie (Aaron Paul probably has less dialogue than 95% of movie leads) but I do wish there was a classic Jessie monologue in here. Paul KILLLLLLED those in Breaking Bad. He was great here but a huge emotional moment like Problem Dog would've been really great |

I liked it!

Really liked Todd even though he was considerably fatter. Duel scene was pretty cool.
Would have maybe liked more from the cops side trying to catch Jesse but a very minor complaint. Lots of cool call backs to characters from the past. |
