My wife had white cats named buffy and fluffy when she was a kid. Do your kids all have the same first letter in their names like hers does?

Nah, but I knew a family where the kids were Faun, Field, Forest, and Fern.

The cats got their names because my wife said our next cat was going to be a black cat named Hocus Pocus. Then our friend who does shelter rescue got two black kittens and we split the names.

Their nicknames are "Big Buddy" and "Petite Chat".

I prefer to not have animals, because I don't want to take care of them.

But wife had an older cat when we got married (She's ok, kind of a princess), and we had a male cat wander up and got adopted (he's pretty independent, looks like a maine coon), and my daughter has a dog (3mo old, black weimaraner mix) she begged for him, and is taking care of him, so he's more of a slobby room mate tbh.

I'd have a dog if I had a house with a fenced in yard, and didn't travel out of state as frequently as I do. It's much easier to leave for a long weekend and not worry about the cat. You can't do that with a dog. I hope your cat recovers. We've had the cat for over 11 years now (vets estimated he was about 3 when we got him), so my daughter's whole life. He's basically stopped eating, and is walking very slowly now. All he does is sit on my daughter's bed until it's food time (which he asks for, but doesn't eat). We are going to try to take him to the vet tomorrow, if we can get in. KIdneys and teeth seem to be the big cat ailments. Diabetes, too.

It ended up being his kidneys. I'm not sure what the number scale means, but the doctor who checked him today said under a level of 2 is healthy, anything above 3 is a serious concern, and his was a 9. Broke my heart to make that call.

2 dogs, 1 cat.
