No, only an automatic. I’d freak out if I had to drive a stick shift.

Automatic, and I picked the freak out option even if that might be a little EXAGGERATIVE. Don't really have much interest in trying it though even if it does have more pros than cons

Shortly after I was married, my wife came home with a Ford ranger. She bought it, had her dad deliver it, and told me I needed to teach her how to drive it since it was a standard.

Unless I misunderstood that situation, then you can punch me in the face.

You did, but that's ok.

I didn't ask for a new car, I was asking to learn how to drive in his car. He ended up giving the truck to a friend and I was actually very upset about that. I wanted to learn how to drive automatic first and then learn how to drive stick in the truck afterwards since I didn't know how to drive period. And I definitely bought my first actual car with my own money.

Another vote from a geezer that can drive standard ... drove a dump truck for a bit for a roofing company.

The owner asked me to drive it to the dump, and get supplies for the next day, my only experience prior had been with a Toyota pickup ... I should have told him that, but nah, just jumped in and took off.

So dumb.
