The Las Vegas 51s (and previous incarnations) have been playing in "Sin City" since 1983, and they haven't had a single gambling scandal yet. If the bookies can't get their hands into the AAA ballplayers making pennies, I doubt they'll have any more influence on the NHL players (making pennies) on the Golden Knights.

We would never know if they had their hands in the AAA locals, or if it would be worth it for them to do so. The bigger the stage, the harder it is to hide.

With the money they have lost this year on them, I could see them making future plans for the vegas team.

Then again, maybe they have a "time in the market" approach and know that the house will make it back with interest in the long run?

With the supreme court deciding that states can have sports betting now, the gambling aspect of vegas is severely diminished. Now that the Raiders are heading there, and the Golden Knights are successful, it won't be long before all the big-4 sports leagues have teams in Vegas.
