Ireland is fantastic. We tend to do minimal "planning" when we hit a country, because you can usually find someplace to stay on the road and we don't want to be stuck feeling like we have to "get moving to make the next place". Ireland worked that way except for Dublin, because we had no idea that pretty much the entire country comes to Dublin on the weekend. The highway system is fairly primitive and so if you want to hit the nightlife, you either live in traffic or spend the weekend in Dublin. So we rolled in on a Friday afternoon and *everything* was booked downtown. We ended up in this seedy B&B- we slept with our clothes on that night, it was so bad. The next morning I was able to sneak in on someone's cancellation at a much better hotel.

So here's a little list I assembled from what has been said so far here:

Places FE has travelled to/lived in (excluding US though, cause everyone has been there):

EUROPE:
Germany: Miko, Buffy, Brian
England: Miko, Vlad
Italy: Miko, Buffy
Austria: Miko, Buffy
The Netherlands: Miko
Belgium: Miko
France: Miko
Iceland: Mercator
Ireland: Vlad
Slovenia: Lamps
Czech Republic: Buffy
Spain: Miko
Switzerland: Miko
Greece: Vlad

North/South America
Canada: Brian, Nobert.
Mexico: Vlad, Brian.
Bermuda: Brian, Rose
Bahamas: Boc, Rose

FUTURE TRAVELS FOR FE: (Places we know with certainty we are going, so not only wishes):
New Zealand: Miko
Russia: Miko
Japan: Miko
Croatia: Lamps
Bosnia & Herzegovina: Lamps
Montengro: Lamps
Kosovo: Lamps
Albania: Lamps
Ireland: Buffy
Spain: Vern?
England: Vern?

Okay, considering you guys didn't mention ALL the countries (Lamps and Vlad? I think being the prime examples) feel free to add on! :-D

With 18 countries visited from this small bunch, and 8 more coming up in the near future, it looks like FE sure is thriving!

We should keep this list updated in the years to come! It's going to be pretty cool seeing it grow!

Before going to New Zealand though, I'll still be travelling to certain states (we can also make a list for states to make America feel included again)

After I am back from New Zealand (As it is only going to be a year), I'll be back in The Netherlands. And will almost instantly be heading to Russia (probably will only have enough time to unpack some excessive stuff, and then already head on a plane). I'll be in Russia from anywhere between a week and a month. I will be there primarily for the World Cup.

I have already gone to the majority of the surrounding countries around the Netherlands though, soafter I come back from Russia, I'll be travelling to a bunch of those places again. And I actually also want to see some more Eastern European countries as well. I almost went to Croatia in 2012 (instead did Italy), as well as Czech Republic in 2013 (instead did the US), with Malta (though Malta is South West) being a leading contender in 2014, but we ended up doing Austria instead.

And then in 2020 (this has already been planned -set in stone- since 2012, I will be going to Tokyo, Japan for the Olympics.

I was thinking of including it, but didn't know which continent it'd be in.

I've been to Canada and Bermuda too. Canada a few times but usually just on a day trip while visiting upstate New York. Bermuda I went to when I was 8 and got free sodas for the trip during a boat tour because I asked the guide a question he couldn't answer. I was really snug about it.

I'M SERIOUS BTW. It was #4 on my study abroad application. At one point out was my #1!

When I reapply I guess I'll have to leave it off.

I'd be happy traveling pretty much anywhere though preferably somewhere I speak the language and where there are no active coups. Iceland/New Zealand/Ireland are at the top of my list right now.

I'd also like to see the Western US at some point. I haven't really gone away from the east coast at all besides Hawaii

Hey Rose, you mentioned a study abroad application. I looked into those a lot back in Febuary before stumbling upon the site that pretty much helped me carve my path to be able to make the move to New Zealand possible.

I'll send you the link. :)

I don't know if you are interested, but they really helped me get my plans under way to go to New Zealand next year. I booked my spot back in March, and will leave to go there in June 2017. So the waiting list is really long, but you should check the site out, there really aren't any better deals than this, and stumbling upon such an underrated gem is actually quite special.

Many 'work abroad' orginizations have leaders that are really out for money, and kind of treat you like another 'number'.

The people behind WH are actually extremely helpful, and try and get to know you for who you are. That's just speaking on personal memories of how they interracted with me. The people who have already returned from their year in New Zealand claim to also have a very good bond with the leaders.

If you ever wanna give New Zealand a try, DO THEM. The wait list may be long, but so far, having contact with them feels loads more trustworthy and genuine than any other organizations I have contacted. :)

Wow you're lucky to be able to travel to so many countries, that's awesome! I love travelling through Europe as well. I've been to other parts of the world as well, but in recent years my focus has been on Southern Europe. There's so much to explore.

I'm particularly interested in the Balkan countries right now. Explored Slovenia last year, and will be visiting Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina this year. Next year I plan to visit Montenegro, Kosovo, and Albania.

I'm working on a site/blog right now, not sure if I'll ever finish but if I do I'll share lol.

Do you usually sleep in hotels? Or hostels or camping places?

Well, in my travels from 1999-2010 it was kind of all stuff that my family organized and I just went with the flow. So they used to like hotels/camping places both.

During my Italy trips in 2011-2012, we stayed in a little 'community camping', I guess you can call it like that. You could rent out little 'houses' I guess? I dunno what to call them, either way, it was super small and pretty unique. There was a swimming pool, a soccer field as well as a little shopping center. We used to always wake up in the morning and get a coffee/ice cream there. And during the nights it was pretty cool, there was the 'center', where people performed musical acts, and a bit more deep into the night, they'd have DJ's and other artistis, surrounding the 'center' was a bunch of resturants, so a lot of people would eat dinner there, and then just stay at that spot for the rest of the night.

I actually made some pretty good friends during that trip, particularly a boy named Gio, he was from Holland as well, but he looked up to me as an older brother. It was a pretty cool vacation -both times- (I'm way older than in the pictures I posted on the page before, so you'll get a pretty good grasp on what I am talking about as the pictures are a bit more specific than the random ones my parents took when I was little, lol.).

But anyways, during my trip to Austria in 2014 (by far the best location I have ever been to), I was close to being an 'adult' at that point, so I was already really looking more at the 'culture' side of trips, as well as just absorbing everything in around me. I have quite a few amazing pictures from that time, I can't wait to show um.

BUT AGAIN, ANYWAYS: We stayed in a hotel, and it was also in a very unique positioning as well. There was a very long street full of hotels, typical Austrian shops, but the most amazing part was when we woke up, we'd wake up to clouds circling the mountain we were situated on. So we'd actually see the clouds below us. It was quite simply amazing.

It's a super underrated location as well, it's called 'Gerlos'. For sure a hidden gem. We went waterfall repelling, as well as zip-lining over waterfalls and a whole bunch of other stuff that I'll explain during that specific post where I show the pictures. Either way, it was an absolutely amazing location that I'd for sure recommend checking out if you are ever thinking about going to Austria! :)

Also, where did you go when you travelled to the Netherlands?

If you weren't able to tell by me constantly boasting about it; I'm quite proud to be Dutch, lol.

Love hearing stories about other people's travels within the country.
