Beer (as well as other bitter things) is disgusting.
If socially forced to have a beer, I'll put down a Leinenkeugel Honey Weiss or Summer Shandy, but that's about it.
However, I'll take a Scotch and Ginger on the rocks any day of the week. |
Not all beer is bitter. I can open up new horizons for you in beer land. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

I hardly ever drink but I really don't like the taste of beer. I'm more of a fruity drinks guy or something like a shot that I can get over with and get straight to the point of it. |
Try a raspberry or cherry lambic. You'll be asking "Is this actually beer?" It is fruity and tasty, but is, in fact, beer. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

Speaking of fruit beers, I have a Founders Rübæus sitting here to try. It came in my Beer Exchange case, but I didn't think it was something I should drink before the weather got warm.

I still drink cheap beer. Mostly when I'm out for happy hour or something. Cheap, easy to drink several. When I travel, I make a point to try the local breweries though. I rarely buy beer for the house, which is when I'll buy the better stuff. At home I'm either drinking bourbon/scotch or were working through some red wine. With bourbon/scotch, it's on the rocks. Maybe with a splash of water but if you have anything decent it's a waste to put anything in it other than ice.

Beer is nice when it's a hot day.
It doesn't make for a good social drink though, and I think it gets you drunk in a different way to spirits.
Not sure if there is any science in that or it's just my imagination, but from my own experience when I get drunk on beer I slur my words and act like a dumb idiot.
Whereas when I drink whiskey I just become calm and cool.
When I mix...well, I just shouldn't. Nor should anyone.
Oh, and I have my whiskey with lemonade, because I have at least a little sympathy for my liver.

Not sure if this topic was originally supposed to be about alcohol preferences, but I saw other people doing it and figured what the hell.

It is definitely a warm weather beer. It is very raspberry, but nice for warm weather. Not quite lambic sweet levels, but still nice if you like fruit beer. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

I definitely prefer hard liquor for the most part, except if it's a hot day like Wikey said
Sprecher Black Bavarian is probably my favorite, that or New Glarus Spotted Cow. Summer Shandy's pretty great on hot days too

Ah, last summer was the summer of gin and tonic. There's not much more refreshing. Ever had a jack Rudy and gin? They call it the "best damn gin and tonic" at one of my local spots. I have a bottle of jack Rudy to make G&Ts at home. So good.
