I can get on board with a lot of that. And you clearly know a lot more about it than I do. If I had enough money on hand, I'd be all about venture capitalism.
I phrase most of what I post on these topics as questions, because I do not profess to be the most knowledgeable about any of these subjects. Posing questions opens up debate and discussion, which allows me (and anyone else if they want) to learn from the discussion. I do tend to lean conservative on a lot of things, but I don't generally just dismiss ideas based on that. I can see, enjoy and respect viewpoints from all sides. Or at least I tell myself I can. :)

I call myself a "liberaltarian" because i trend libertarian on a lot of stuff (keeping government out of the bedroom and all that) and I believe that government's prime job is to handle public goods and market failures. Bernie, funny enough, actually trends far more this way than Hillary, even though people say he is a "Socialist" like that is a bad thing. He's fairly libertarian on moral issues, while he believes in common sense gun control, he has never been anti-gun, and most of his plans have to due with dealing with market failure issues. I also believe that taxes, while they suck, need to be paid (and it is clear that trickle down supply side economics make things worse, not better).
I was a big Howard Dean fan back in the day he was very similar in a lot of ways: focused on growing the economy and balancing the budget, etc. Media did a similar hack job on him too by focusing on the "scream" and nothing else. Dems put forward the least electable candidate and we got four more years of Dubya (who was the exact opposite of my beliefs: intervention in social/moral issues,no intervention in market failures, and dropping taxes on the upper brackets to tank the economy). | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

You're absolutely comically wrong.
|
What exactly am I "comically wrong" about? The only absolute statements that I made are (1) that Bernie cannot actually do what he says he wants to do - you agreed with me on that; and (2) that Biden would've won this election. |
Yes those were the only absolute statements you made however all of the "questions" you asked were loaded and included a "some studies say" about how the middle class would actually be burdened with most of the taxes in order to pay for all the stuff Bernie has been pushing for.
Thats the same way Fox News talks about climate change when referring to "some studies show" that climate change isn't really but neglect to say that those are only about 1% of the studies and those studies just so happened to have been bankrolled by big oil companies.

I didn't say that the middle class would actually be the ones burdened with most of the taxes. Nor did I make any broad, sweeping generalizations about studies and what percentages of what studies said what. I simply asked the question of where the line is. To me, that is a perfectly valid question. You are certainly free to interpret my questions in whatever way you like.

Lol, I'm not reading all this text, but Bernie Sanders's ideas are not impossible. If it works here in Europe, then why can't it work over in the United States?

I can go on for hours on this; unfortunately, I live it daily, so I have to know it. ;)
The funny thing is, while I advocate for single payor personally, professionally, it would kill a ton of my clients. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

I don't know how much you guys pay in taxes, but I'd think that 90% in taxes for the top 1& (the filthy rich) and then 50% taxes for the richest of the middle class is a good start.
That being said, I don't even know how much the rich are paying here. I think it's 50%, but I'm not sure. Definitely not 90%.
