I have an ASUS and I dig it. I used to have a lenovo with a super big screen but the screen literally broke off of the laptop. The screen wasn't cracked. It just like... idk, fell off of the laptop itself. Now my friend uses it as a super cool mini wall monitor that plugs with USB? Idk but it's cool.
Anyways, I'm a fan of ASUS. Lenovo, for me, was too big and fragile.

I've had a Toshiba laptop for about 5 years now that i bought at best buy for like $600.
It still runs like new and I've never had any issues with it... despite all the porn

Just in case you can always buy the Alienware alpha if you're just looking out something to play games. It's basically a CPU made specifically for games (can run as a PC too), but it's to be connected to a TV or monitor (it doesn't come with one). It's somewhat portable, has high specs and not that much pricey, but as I said it will require for you to have a monitor nearby to use it. You can always leave that one and home and still use your laptop around for basic work or internet surfing.
That's just a random idea which may or not suit your needs | I used to travel the universe, but settled for parks.

I heard that the Alienware wasn't actually that great of a computer. It's pretty much a basic laptop that looks really flashy.

very much so imo. Twice the RAM + an SSD is worth the extra money. Since you're gonna be paying over $1000 anyway might as well GO BIG OR GO HOME! |
When it comes to buying computers, I heavily agree with this, if you're already spending in the thousands, you better be prepared to spend more than you want, and chances are, you'll benefit for the long haul. Get the necessary accessories that come with the package and you are set.

Amazon does deals for it, yes. You're close enough so I would just wait. And you'll get another paycheck in before you make the plunge which is a plus. |
