Anyone started playing yet? I haven't because I got distracted by FFXIV (and partly just to spite that dude I've played Portal with because he keeps bugging me to play but was condescending towards my laptop last night).

I SUPPOSE it's time to finally bite the bullet and install Origin :///
I've heard it's become much better than the shit it was.
So I played for about two hours just doing pod capture matches, and I went in with no expectations about the game but I like it so far. My main complaints are having enemies spawn like right next to you sometimes and that I can't make it automatically give me a girl avatar with every match (but I like that it has black people).
The odds are so stacked in the Walker assault mode though.
Tried it for a bit, p fun...as a shooter. Still not sure how it'll hold up as a Battlefront game though, it almost feels like they should've just named it something else
The two maps that I played on (Tatooine and Sullust) were pretty dull and small. They LOOKED good obviously but there wasn't much to them, pretty much just one winding landscape. Hoping they're saving the better maps for the game, but eh, I'm not too hopeful
And are ALL the command posts in this game just gonna be those escape pods? That seems extremely silly
Right. I'm hoping they'll have more variety. I wouldn't buy the game at full price if all I got was the exact same modes just on different maps. I don't have any urge to buy it at full price right now even though I had fun. I wish they would've had more than three modes available. I'd like it if survival mode could happen with more than 2 players too. I'd have fun with Left 4 Dead style campaign maps.
I also want better vehicle control and wouldn't mind a bigger variety of weapons. I never played the other Battlefronts so I have nothing to compare it to, but it not really feeling like one is the sentiment I've been seeing around.
I bum off of my roommates PS4. I just played it. It was actually pretty decent. I didn't go in with super high hopes though. But I could see myself playing a few matches a day. Hopefully he splurges and buys it. lol

The previous Battlefronts didn't have a huge variety of weapons, but each class would have their own unique weapon (battle rifle, rocket launcher, sniper rifle, shotgun, etc) which would present some interesting strategies on some maps, deciding which class will work best at any given time. Whereas this one kinda just combines them all into one and you can pick up whatever
BASICALLY I just wish they would've called this game something else because it really seems to have little similarity to the first two games. And the game seems fine on its own but I think it's always gonna pale in comparison to the other two for me
