You guys are making it seem like lynching FF was the godsend town needed and we are all enlightened now. Let's take all this great info we gathered and lynch a mafia. Oh wait...I'm not seeing it because you idiots are tunneling me like always. You think you guys would learn? Stubborn people. |
We're trying Corey we're trying!!!!!
There's been 3 different leads brought up today from the FF train (Justin/Jeff/you)
0 from the Nofo/Matt deaths

But anyway as a real defense why would I draw so much attention to myself as mafia? Why would I not just sit in the background and lynch FF for the same reason and just play it cool for now? Blowing up on town for making a move which I don't agree with isn't a very smart play as mafia.

The Matt death is a consequence of the Nofo death, according to the flavor, so that doesn't really tell us anything except that our cop is now boned.
The Nofo death could be someone randomly trying to divert suspicion onto me, because of Nofo's random lynch last round, or it could have just been a random target. It's hard to tell with day 1 lynches.
Also, Simplton - if you actually think that experience will earn you respect (here or anywhere else on the internet), you have my profound sympathies. |

No I'll let my play speak for me. I am just letting everyone know that I am not misleaded nor am I going to try and derail town. I'm going to help to the best of my experience and ability. Why would I want or need someone on an internet forum mafia games respect? :P

Only out of the stubbornness and feeling like you guys have no idea where I'm coming from. Look at it from my point of view. Is it really worth risking hitting the cop, medic, orc, vig, etc? Just to see people's lynches on D1 where there is next to no basis? Yes it may help late game SLIGHTLY but I think the bad heavily outweighs the good.

I play to put town in the best situation everyday regardless of the lynch. Now if FF had been inactive for a whole few days or something then yes lynching him there is protown since he isn't going to contribute. Lynching someone for being the last to speak when the game just started and they may be unaware? Very different thing. I don't feel like that put town in the best position. But hey different opinions. This is how I project my play for town. May I be wrong? Of course. But my confidence and my honesty is what I have. I have no reason to hide my feelings nor my thoughts. The more I lay out the more information town has. Witholding anything whether it be for or against is not a protown move.

See another thing that you guys have that I don't is meta. This is what my 3rd game of mafia and the first two barley count. You guys know how you act/react/post etc. a little more than i do. Of course people can change their posts and play style but you may be aware of getting way more information than I will. Maybe you know someone is outspoken/trolly/scummy etc. So I have to try a little bit harder or put my faith in someone that I may not know their alignment but to trust their reads.

Option 1: no lynch and have virtually nothing to go off of on D2, effectively making it a de facto D1
Option 2: lynch someone and gain information based on who voted for them, who voted for someone else, who didn't vote at all, etc. Best case scenario you hit scum, worst case you might take out a power role (although hopefully they'd claim if that was the case) but get the ball rolling information-wise nevertheless.
And I wasn't even really in favor of the FF train. I hate inactives, but I rarely vote for them. I always try to go for who I think is acting scummy on D1 even if there's hardly anything to go on. BUT with that said I think lynching FF was a FAR better alternative to a no lynch any day. It's just unfortunate that he had a decent role (one which he might've never been around to use)

And just to let you know I understand the play but I don't agree with it per se. Maybe I'll eat my words and maybe this is the best way to get a forum mafia started. I'm new to this style. Like I said I'm getting my bearings so please excuse my play until I get better.

Yeah I guess it wasn't so much LYNCHING but the lynch that was chosen. I feel like an inactive should get at least one more chance. Especially on the first day. As it has now happened 2 times in a row a town has been lynched d1 for being inactive. The track record just didn't sit well with me. I would have rather someone else or a no lynch over FF. That's the best way I can correct my thought process on the situation.

I pretty much agree with what Boc said, but I'll also argue the point that from my point of view it's totally worth risking hitting the doctor/cop/whatever if they're inactive. We're already not benefiting from that role, so they're exactly as useful to us dead as they are alive. We might as well know that we can't rely on our doctor or cop because they're dead, rather than having them around and doing nothing, and opening the door for scum to claim that role. |

I agree. My thinking though was UNLESS I missed something we had no clue how long FF would for sure be gone. All I wanted was to give him at least one more day to see if he would come around. I know he committed to a game and stuff comes up. I just think expecting someone in 24 hours or death is a little hasty. But as long as we get information I guess I can just shutup. Haha

I'm also a little suspicious of Animal (basically only showed up to cast a lynch vote. Potentially just wanted to make sure that he didn't get any heat for being less active?) and im317 (was asking for votals, but didn't actually cast a vote. Could be he wanted to avoid trains to keep from garnering suspicion.)
Out of those two, I'm most iffy on Animal, since he's got limited availability, but it seems odd that he'd push for a definitive lynch, then, for the same reasons it was weird that Vic cast a lynch vote before peacing out for the rest of the day. I don't really see either of those necessarily being more scummy than Jeff or Simplton, but it's worth keeping an eye on. |
What do you mean by limited availability? lol I consistently checked the board to see if FF had checked back, even after I put my lynch vote in on him... well, until a certain point in the night anyway - then I actually forgot about mafia tbh but I made it a point to check back for awhile to see if he had checked in but he never did, so I left my lynch vote on him.
Also if by limited availability you mean finals week then ok. (: I have a final exam in like 4 hours and have been studying until now, and another exam Tues and another Weds - but after that, I'm done. Sorry if you think I'm lesser active or have "limited availability." While my priority is my education, I think I've been making it an effort to check in when necessary!
Anywho,
I actually don't find Simp that scummy, cuz he hasn't been afraid to voice his opinion which most scum would probably wanna lay back and let others take heat, but I think he's embracing the heat. Yeah he didn't really "come out guns blazing" until he was called out, but he still had differing opinions on D1, right? Like he wasn't afraid to say he disagreed with us about lynching FF. Now, if FF flipped mafia, then I could see Simp's opposition to the FF lynch as scummy, but otherwise I don't think it's scummy.
We really didn't get much info from D1, imo. Like people lynched others, but I don't think that's very scummy since FF was town anyway. The only thing I have questions for is why Vic can't lynch today but for some reason, I doubt we'll be getting an answer for that today.
