I know that you're telling the truth from the fact that your action went through. The only game-mechanics explanation I can think of that would explain why she didn't see you is if there is hidden text in one of your roles or emotions.

I guess she could also be making stuff up? But that feels very risky to do without being asked for results, so IDK.

I feel like it's more likely that there is a weird way emotions could have lined up that I'm not thinking of.
