I missed some stuff so I'll re-watch at 8pm my time but it was irritating when Jonathan asked for Drea and Maryanne to turn in their idols. I also don't see why Mike is mad at Hai.

Really not a fan of the 2x5 tribal councils. Really shortens the episode.

Rocksroy man. Definitely not a great showing for him. Hai is definitely playing hard but he seems to be very transparent. I think he’s in trouble soon.

Second tribal was tough. Definitely get it from Drea and Maryanne. Definitely put their money where their mouth is with using the idol. Johnathon definitely had his foot in his mouth, but I kind of get it and thought he kind of sat aside afterwards. I definitely don’t blame Drea and Maryanne for feeling that way, but it made for a very awkward tribal council in terms of execution.

I hope we get to a point now with the more diverse casts that these don’t need to happen anymore, but we’ll see. While they are powerful moments for social commentary, they also take away from the actual strategic component of Survivor.

Gotta put yourself in the girls shoes and even then it's hard for me to grasp their decision since I am not them and haven't experienced 42 seasons of Survivor like they have. Tori did best she could with the situation she had. I dunno why Lindsay also didn't play her shot in the dark though.... dumb. Everyone said they were voting for Tori so if she pulled a Safe then you might as well use your Shot in the dark too. If they were both safe then LOL no one would go home?

Omar seems like he's 100% going to win the game

Honestly, I get why people think the words from Drea and Maryanne were awkward and maybe even that they don't want to hear them in a game like Survivor, but I think they should be said as much as people feel the need. I've never been in their shoes but I appreciated both of them sharing what they were feeling.

I think they went back to one SAFE card and 5 Not SAFE so I don’t think there was a chance they both could be safe. Not sure though.

They obviously didn't know how the Rocksroy vote came about. The first tribal council didn't have my complete attention, but from our perspective, it looked like three of those guys didn't want the all-guys alliance that Rocks was preaching. But to come in and see him sitting on the other side, that's where Drea's and Maryanne's minds went because of what they must deal with all the time. I have loved watching Jonathan dominate physically and it's been nice to see him in alllances and not as a target, but he didn't have a great episode here...

I think it has to do with the Rocks vote. Mike probably wasn't in on it. As I said, I didn't pay super close attention to the first tribal.

Mike voted for Rocksroy and Hai did talk to him about it before TC.

I think they would have went back to 1/6 for each of the two double tribals but who knows.

Definitely would have made sense for her to do it if it was 2/12

I really don't blame Jonathan for reacting the way he did initially since that really did seem to be the implication. As Drea/Maryanne explained more it made a bit more sense where they were coming from and like you said he stepped aside after that, at least based on the edit

I mostly think it's a combination of the editing (not every 'emotional moment' needs a cloying score to make us understand the emotion we're supposed to feel, for one) and Jeff's leading questions that makes these types of TCs feel a lot more awkward than they would otherwise. Just let the moment BREATHE and speak for itself

kinda sucks in Maryanne's case to lose an idol she probably wouldn't have used otherwise but understandable based on wanting to avoid unwanted perceptions
