Houses are an investment though. You have 0 roi on renting. You're basically throwing money away

I like the mobility of renting, but that's about it.

Buying a house is basically paying rent to yourself instead of someone else. When I calculated just how much I’d put into rent, it ended up being like half the price of my current house.

That said, if I lived in a bigger city and didn’t have a big family, I could see just renting to make it easier.

My rent is more than my parents' mortgage in the Bay Area. So depressing.

I pay 400 a month split with my wife it really isn't an issue for me.

Buying is the way to go. I look forward to finally have a home of my own. I also look forward to checking out Ahoda’s new house so I can compare it to his old one. And saying hello to the Plex again

as someone who thought the idea of buying a house sounded tedious and unnecessary, its a great and different feeling to have a house of ur own. it comes with its growing pains but absolutely worth it just from a satisfaction standpoint let alone the long term financial benefits and tax benefits (this probs wont last long but still)
