Pats released Cam. All eggs in the Mac Jones basket
Surprising tbh, all signs pointed to Cam still starting for a bit at least. Rumor is him not getting vaccinated had a big role? Who knows. Won’t exactly miss his performance but I do like him

It had to do with the fact he sucks at football and is no longer worth keeping on an nfl roster. |

He's not the elite talent qb he used to be, but he is still a starting caliber qb in today's league. He also comes with a lot of baggage, a lot of off the field shenanigans, and is a bottom-tier starting level qb. His not getting vaccinated, assuming that is true, probably played a fairly decent role in BB's decision, highlighted by his recent absence from the team just for not being able to properly understand the COVID rules.

Cam has a future in fashion so no need to worry about him.

Cam hasn’t been the same since his shoulder injury. He was never that accurate and after the surgery he changed his mechanics to a more over the top motion. He has no touch anymore, everything he throws is a fastball and he has an issue with a late release point causing the occasional bounce pass.
I was hoping he would be much improved by this point but obviously not enough. I watched a couple of the preseason games and thought he did ok. I didn’t think Mac was impressive. Some good throws and some bad throws. A lot of work vs the other teams 2 and 3s.
But mainly what stood out to me is this Pats offense sucks. They definitely want a game manager and to control the game mainly with the run, which is fine considering their RB depth, but it’s not gonna be a fun offense to watch.
I’m glad Cam is out as a Cam fan. I don’t think the Pats ever had his back.
They kept Hoyer and Stidham over Cam. Which might just be a money thing, a vax thing or maybe they didn’t want Mac looking over his shoulder.
Otr maybe Cam wanted his release, don’t know yet.
But as a Dan Marino lifetime fan, I’ve always hated the Pats and tore me up to see Cam go there. But I did pull for them while he was there.
But we’ll see if he gets a shot elsewhere otherwise it was fun while it lasted.

for a tallish QB he gets to many passes batted down at the line now. i dont watch the mechanics that much, was the higher release point to compensate for that or something? he simply does not throw the ball that well now. thought he seemed to do better any time they went play action. i think going thought the fake got him aligned better for the throws or something. i think a big thing is you really dont to run a different offense for your backup QB, that plus the rules for close contacts who are not vaccinated make it really difficult to keep a QB who isnt. its not a position that you can pick someone up off the street for a week last minute if someone goes down.

Tortured Jets fan here. Not sure if I am ready for this or not!!! Part of me is real into it but ugh the goddamn jets. Will be checking out the workout tomorrow I guess
|
IT HAPPENED
jets baby |
Now suddenly Jets fans everywhere in Utah.
Miiiiight go to a game this year. I've been waiting for the Jets to play in Denver for years since it's only a few hours away from me and they finally are this year. Last away game I was at in fucking PHOENIX was brutal and I had a very drunk Cardinals fan screaming in my ear about Ryan Fitzpatrick being a bitch the entire time. |
Hey, I went to this.
I really should not have. |

the annual Rodgers playoff choke truly is one of the most wonderful times of the year
literally breathed a sigh of relief when Gould sailed that kick through. And it's not even like Rodgers/Packers fans can blame the defense this time, that was 100% on the offense and special teams. Just beautiful
