I still have hope that Wii U will turn out worth buying.
Obviously not right now but when it has more games and a price reduction I'll be all over it.
PS4 is likely to be expensive as hell, and I wasn't fond of Xbox in the first place, this only making me want one less.

We are currently hearing that the Xbox One will not feature backwards compatibility. |
Da fuck
|
Always on DRM for the console as a whole has been denied and left up to publishers. However, they have said that they would like to push towards that. |
Fuck you

A new feature is Intelligent TV. With this, users can switch between games, music, movies, and television instantly with your voice. |
Voice active tv remote? Wonder how this will work for foreigners who speak weird english, or if it will actually work like it should!
Im not sure why they think this is needed but whatever.

A Halo series will be developed for Xbox Live. |
/Care. Spielberg producing says nothing about how good it will be. See Transformers and a lot of subpar tv series. Might be shit, might be good. Who knows.
What a shitty reveal. I wont buy it.
Has there been anything similar with PS4? I havnt really been paying attention.

How many really good TV series has Spielberg produced?
I can only really think about Band of Brothers but I might be forgetting something. The Pacific was shit when compared to BoB but I guess it was okay considering the differences in the theaters of war.

Lol´d at this
Missed the part about CoD I think?
Adding dogs seems a bit meh. The only difference will be that you will actually care when the dog dies (cause animals dying is sad) opposed to when the other shallow characters will get shot.
New AI that has fishes moving away? Wut? Is this new? Im pretty sure ive been playing games with these features. Activision should probably spend more time creating something unique rather than thinking about fish.

A lot of these new features might have no use outside of the US right?
Netflix, Live Tv, Hulu, HBO Go(?) and possibly other shit wont work outside the US. I think, copyright laws always seem to be an issue! Why alienate such a large market outside of the US? I dont want to pay for features that I cant even use!
Skype is possibly the only globally usable feature...
Not that I would use any of them. Id want to play good games, with believable graphics, that run good and are cheap! Xbox is probably going to be very pricey. If I wanted to watch TV id just turn the Xbox off!
Just seems very silly to spend time and money to add features that arnt even that impressive. You can still do all the other stuff without the Xbox, there are even fridges out there that can stream from Netflix! Just seems like this wasnt really thought about. The xbox is a gaming console, people are going to buy it to play games. Why not try and improve on that? Spending money on those features seems like a waste. To me at least.
Perhaps Microsoft is just going for the Us market and letting Sony take care of the rest? Ill eagerly wait for some Ps4 update.
I also read somewhere that sony stock jumped up after the announcement, which is interesting

I'd lean towards the PS4 if I was getting a new console but...I can't see many new releases being that enticing or interesting to me anymore. The gaming industry has been too watered down now that any actual quality is a rare treat and the vast majority of games aren't worth the asking price.

I decided a while ago once I get a job I'm going to invest in a good PC. This pretty much confirms it. Console Gaming is dead. I'm more into indie PC games anyway.

I agree really. I've never been much for PC gaming in general but these days indie games are pretty much the only things I play because innovation is dead in the saturated console market. There's an occasional treasure every so often but they're hard to come by.
I kind of always expected things to go this road anyway. Merely improving the graphics and physics of your games engine ad infinitum does not make it more enjoyable.

Don't have much interest in consoles (i still have like 10 360 games i haven't touched) so I wasn't following this, but I've been reading analysts' theories about an impending industry crash, which really interests me. Given the disastrous response to this, the non-buzz for PS4, and the widespread lack of interest for Wii U, I can see why.
