I don’t think anyone at any age should see it. But there isn’t anything bad for kids in there except it’s like, unnervingly sexual? I don’t know how to explain it.
The tags on google for it really got me tho

"I See You" - it was pretty good. I don't want to say much about it besides it's a mystery sorta thriller (not horror tho) because reasons... but I recommend if you're into that genre.

I went on a 2019 release tear this month. My most recent:
For Sama: Gotta be the most brutal doc I've ever seen. Neck and neck with Dear Zachary at the very least, but this just assaults you left and right the whole way through. Lots of bloodshed and bodies and dead kids, it's awful. My mouth was AGAPE during one pretty horrifying sequence, I was basically watching it through my fingers. WITH THAT SAID! Strongly recommended
Arctic: My boy Mads Mikkelsen trying to survive in the Arctic. A standard survival story shot and acted (ofc) really well
Under the Silver Lake: The follow up from the director of It Follows. Fucking weirrrrd movie. Long but always entertaining. Easy to see why many hated it

Where’d you go Bernadette - 2019 6.5/10
Entertaining feel good type movie. Wasn’t great but was good. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless they were a Cate Blanchett fan, because she was terrific in it.

UnCut Gems - 2019
I know I’m in the vast minority here, but I thought it was terrible. Lol.

I was really excited about this, as I’m a Sandler fan and heard he was really good in this and it was awesome. I do find most of his movies are very hit or miss for me, but the ones I like, I really like. And I think he’s a good guy and I always root for him to be successful. Anyway.
This movie, it’s 2:15 long and I swear, 2 hours of it is just several people screaming obscenities at each other. To the point where I just want to yell “Shut the Hell up” every 3 minutes.
The story itself is old and tired and been done so many times. Guy gets his self in a hole and can’t get out because he keeps doing the same stupid shit that got him there in the first place. Nothing ever goes right for him, because well, he’s a dumbass that keeps doing stupid shit. Not to mention the fact that he’s a borderline dirtbag anyway. I don’t even want to see his character succeed because he’s a scumbag anyway. He’s really no better than the other dirtbags he’s associating with. He’s got a great family and a good business but he chooses to throw all of that away for what?
The story is so predictable also, I knew the instant he locked the guys in the glass box, that one dude was gonna straight up murder him as soon as he got out. And when it happened I actually LOL’d .
And that 70’s ish music playing in the background for like a third of the movie was horrible. Turn that crap off, it’s terrible.
All of this is supposed to creat a nerve racking tension through out the movie, but it’s just an annoying AF distraction. I came so close to turning this off at least twice. But I kept hoping something would change and it didn’t.
Sandler was good in this, but not to the point people are making him out to be. And I really like him.
Anyway, just not my kind of movie, at all. Lol.

The Philadelphia Story (1940) Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart. 7.5/10
Finally got to see this as I’d had it on my watch list forever. The story is really good and the acting is outrageously good. The chemistry between the cast is top notch. The ending is a little messy but works. I’d highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys any of those actors or just a good witty movie in general.
Shout out to Hodie for all 3 of these via Plex.

Blah. Not great, not terrible. Kids loved it, I'd rather stayed at home doing nothing. |
