btw you two, I didn't have the controversial intro you're talking about? Mine had the studio logos and then straight into the train station scene. Whatever it was maybe it was so shit that they removed it from future releases
Oh lol, I didn’t see the spoiler in your post and completely misread everything, I thought by intro not aging well you meant it was controversial and that’s what Jacob was responding to. I only skimmed the posts before watching, my b
Barry Lyndon
WOWIE! Great movie. I love the final duel, it's such a perfect mirror of the first one. Very poetic. Everything about this feels perfectly calculated. The runtime didn't bother me, what's great about this story is that it feels very well-paced. Events flow together very well. Love the music. I love the wide shots in all of the battles. I thought O'Neil was good! I like the fact that he was more wooden because I feel like the character was very much molded by the events that happened to him. Like he's just the dumb centerpiece to all of these exchanges. Very reactionary.

It's GOOD. Obviously, the performances are great (especially Stone's) and obviously, Scorsese is a GENIUS, but I had a tough time getting into this. I didn't like all of the narration, it just felt so unnecessary or lazy at times, like it gave us information that it could have easily shown/hidden from us in different ways. If you're gonna essentially tell me that the downfall is coming at the beginning of the movie, you have to either make the journey interesting, or subvert my expectations, and in my opinion, it didn't do either. It's hard not to compare this to Goodfellas, which is my favorite Scorsese movie. The beginning shows us what would eventually be the "beginning of the end" and it just works perfectly. I feel like Goodfellas has so much more style to it and the narration works because it comes off as the confessions of Henry and Karen. IDK, Casino is good but it just didn't have the style that I enjoy in other Scorsese FLICKS.

Hey man, those titles were VERY controversial imo.
I wouldn't say I fully loved or hated it, but it definitely made an impression on me, haven't stopped thinking about it since I watched it. It was definitely like seeing something interesting at an art gallery - I may not fully "get it" (even though the surface-level point of this movie is p straightforward) but it's moreso there to make you feel something
That’s one of my favorite songs from a movie in quite awhile. I always lol at the lil bit of Affleck pretending to sing it, looks so weird coming from him. The song makes the trailer great too

also this song is gr8
I've really been wanting to see this but - is it scary?
Was not disappointed. I’d give it an 8 maybe 9. Will definitely watch it a few more times.
Halle Barry is very good in it, damn she looks good too.
Her dogs kinda steal the show tho.
I expected a drop off with this one, but nope. You get exactly what you want. The body count has got to be the highest yet. Lol.
I will add that it’s a bit over the top and they definitely stray more to JW being more invincible than what he realistically should be. But it is what it is. I usually don’t care for these type of movies but I like the darkness of this series.
