maaan I wanted to like this movie so much more than I did. Lots of ELEMENTS that I liked that could've been so much more if it was served with a better script. A SHAME!

I felt pretty similar except I still enjoyed it for the most part. The script is definitely rough and you can tell the dialogue needed a few more ONCE OVERS. I still really liked RPat and the overall look of the movie. It'd be one I give another shot in order to try and understand it more.

When you try to navigate off of the page it brings you right back to the page and you have to do it twice. A lil DEJA VU!

Might only be on the app

I went to go see Aladdin last weekend. I enjoyed it, and actually really liked Will Smith as the genie

Yeah those were p much my positives too. If the whole movie was just focused on him/his daughter I think I would've liked it more. The whole middle section was definitely the weakest

There Will Be Blood

This was a weird one for me. I recognize that it's very good but at the same time it didn't do as much for me as I had hoped. I wish I was taking a whole lot more away from it than I am :(

DDL and Dano are of course great. And it's an interesting character study and it looks really good

Those are about my only takeaways somehow. Paul Thomas Anderson is one of the best and his movies tend to stick with me for awhile after I watch them so maybe I'll have more of a reaction in a few days. I just wish I was BLOWWWWWWWWWWWN AWAYYYYYYYY considering its praise but that's not the case, it didn't impact me half as much as Magnolia did. Maybe just a fat case of being overhyped tbh

7/10

You're def not alone. It's BEEN A WHILE so idk if I'd have a different view on it now but that's p much how I felt. For me the big debate between TWBB vs No Country for 2007's best was always no contest (not necessarily a knock on TWBB tho)

although the actual best of 2007 was Assassination of Jesse James anyway

First Man

it was alright? I feel like it was hamstrung by Armstrong just not being a very compelling character to follow for a whole movie. After watching Apollo 11, I think this would've been much more interesting if it followed all three astronauts and focused in a little tighter on the mission itself

The landing itself was definitely SOLID tho, the switch over to IMAX cameras as soon as the ramp goes down was well-done. I recently upgraded my theater setup to use Atmos so the sound of all the spaceflight scenes was...out of this world  Although it was no Interstellar
