I went out drinking the other night and I needed some money so I had to go and buy something to get cashback. Was gonna buy a pack of batteries but wound up with Django Unchained instead. Probably a better choice (:
Will watch it soon. | |

^that movie is very good. I think I'll give it a rewatch one of these days. | "There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."

Finally managed to watch Life of Pi. I enjoyed it a lot and I kind of want to re-watch it now.
It's very visually appealing and has an enjoyable plot. I would easily recommend it.

Saw Now You See Me a few days back. Pretty interesting. Not as clever as I thought it would be, though. Half of the tricks could be ascribed to Hollywood being Hollywood, rather than seeming like an illusion that could be feasibly created in the real world.

Thought the "big reveal" was kind of a letdown, too, to be honest. Like, how the heck did Ruffalo even get into The Eye in the first place? He's not a magician. He's also not young enough to have been a fantastic enough magician to be inducted, set the whole thing up, and then go start a second life as a law enforcement officer and get himself into the upper echelons. Plus, don't they do background checks? Wouldn't someone had picked up on the fact that he was a bogus persona? |

re. now you see me

the twist is dumb af because the central conceit of it is so preposterous. but i thought that he'd been developing his persona since he was 12? |

I finally got to see Iron Sky (the movie about Nazis on the Moon) and it was actually pretty good. If you get over the fact you have to read 1/3 movie (its in german with subtitles) it is actually really well done. It was a good mix of humor and drama. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"
