Street Thief
Found a stream of this last night after seeing it on a list of the best found footage movies. It included things that weren't horror, like this one. Two guys follow a burglar as he cases businesses, collects intel, and stalks people. I was really invested in from pretty much the beginning, but the ending wasn't really there for me. Still enjoyed 3/4ths of it. The director also played the thief. He plays a standoffish dick so well that it seems like a real person.

Watched the Upside the other night.
It had some pretty funny parts in it and the dad from Malcolm in the middle was really good in it.

Tombstone
Good stuff. Kinda surprisingly hokey and melodramatic at times, like the way they had Kurt yell the slow-mo "NoOooOOOOooooOOOOoooOOOoOoOoOoOo!!" when he charged in the river or Bill Paxton's slow-mo death, there were more that I can't remember
But boi was it badass. "You gonna do somethin'? Or are you just gonna stand there and bleed?" HELL YAWWWWWWW
Val Kilmer, what a stud. He had some great roles back then but it's too bad his career didn't have more longevity, he was pretty awesome here. I could've used a whole movie about Doc
Kurt Russell...maybe the most effortlessly badass actor tbh, I love him in everything. Bill Paxton was great, RIP :[ . Powers Booth was a great villain, also RIP. Wish we got more out of him. He reminded me of Negan. It was cool to see Michael Biehn as a villain too, he was good. And I can't believe that rat was Stephen Lang, looked so different
Was almost a 7/10 but I landed on an 8

Tombstone is a superb movie. My sons and I quote lines from it all the time.
The movie is very historically accurate as far as the events the timeline is off and there a few small inaccuracies but nothing major, however the gunfight at the OK corral was accurate down to the steps. Their were several eye witnesses to the fight and the movie followed the accounts to a tee.

Booksmart - the Superbad comparisons were even more fitting than I thought they'd be, some vryyy similar story beats. This did stand on its own enough and I enjoyed it tho. Wasn't as funny as Superbad but it had just as much heart. Gr8 soundtrack too
Apollo 11 - this was really good. It's been like the year of the documentary for me so far and this is def near the top. The launch sequence was especially amazing, and I liked all the subtle flourishes they had with the infographics and stuff throughout. Also I didn't even know his name before watching this but Collins was like my fav of the three coming out of this, some MAD BANTZ between him and Houston

Booksmart
The first half was losing me tbh, I was watching with a straight face for most of it and the humor wasn't really doing it for me. But the second half was way way better. I liked how nearly all characters got their moments and broke their stereotypes a bit, like Jared and Annabelle. Those were nice scenes
A couple of laughs by the end but I didn't find it very funny at all. But I liked other stuff it was doing. Music was great too, I just finished it and I'm already re-listening to the soundtrack. I really liked Kaitlyn Dever, I almost wish the movie was only about Amy instead of the two of them and the Superbad angle. The quick karaoke scene and the pool scene were my favorite bits probably. Olivia Wilde did a good job directing
Also Gigi (didn't realize that was Carrie Fischer's daughter) was the funniest part of the movie

One of my all time favorites. Great acting for an action movie, and I love that there are great one liners all over it.

Watched Skate Kitchen last night. It was pretty good. Not a fan of the documentary feel in movies. Felt like they could have done more had they approached it differently and developed the characters a little deeper instead of sticking with the scattered glimpses approach.

Rocketman.
I really enjoyed it! I'm not a huge Elton John fan so I wasn't sure what to expect going in nor do I have any idea how accurate it is, but it was FUN! I wasn't expecting a musical to this degree, however it worked and I enjoyed the musical bits to every part of John's life. |

Apollo 11
Pretty good! Got better as it went on. I've seen people gush about the launch sequence and the prep for the launch but that didn't really do it for me, I was more into the landing, moon walking, and part of the return
Overall wasn't quite as mesmerized as others seem to be, some of my friends went absolutely nuts over it and called it a masterpiece. Wasn't..quite as impactful on me but it was still good, I really liked the music and the message. And the thought of poor Michael Collins being the only person on the entire Earth who couldn't view the moon landing

Déjà Vu with Denzel. Kind of a cool premise, I liked it.
