Django Unchained.

So many good parts.

What about Tarantino’s swears??

Oh this is so mild for QT.

31 uses of the F word
31 uses of GD

Had the volume down actually for the first half and then skipped out on the last part, after the shoot out in the mansion. So I didn’t actually watch all of it. But there are some good parts.

My youngest son whose 19 had never seen it, and he busted out laughing at the gunfight in the mansion, where the blood is actually exploding out of the victims being shot. I mean it’s so ridiculous it’s comical.

At that point I explained to him how QTs movies are ridiculously over the top with blood, gore, violence and cursing.

But Django is by far his best movie IMO. But it’s mostly about the performances of Fox, Waltz and LD for me. In fact Django is the only QT movie I will watch again.

I haven’t watched the Hateful 8 or past the first 10 minutes of Inglorious Bastards just because I have no interest in them knowing they are QT movies.

I know plenty of people love him and that’s cool with me, but I don’t see his so called genius. I see him as a gimmick user.

American Movie

p great, Chris Smith's documentaries are so fun to watch. This MIGHT be my favorite of the ones I've seen even if it was clearly the least polished. Almost everyone in the movie had the feel of a sitcom character, it was almost hard to believe it was real at times. Bill and Mike were great especially

Because I'm too lazy to sift through threads and don't know how to search....

Has anyone seen The Prodigy? Is it worth seeing in theaters?

saw a Best Picture marathon which was 4 of the nominated movies + all the animated shorts

The Favourite - this was fucking great, I kinda wish this would've been the last one shown. All three leads were fantastic, especially Weisz. I felt like this could've made an even better HBO mini-series tbh

Vice - prettyyy weak tbh. Big Short worked well enough for me but this felt so...all over the place? And was weirdly obsessed at times with smaller details like Cheney's heart transplant which kinda detracted from the overall points it wanted to make. The mid-credits bit was p funny

Black Panther - already seen it obv, liked it about an equal amount the second time around. This movie would've kinda sucked if it didn't have such fun-to-watch villains in Killmonger/Klaw

Bohemian Rhapsody - it was...perfectly fine. It was very surface level/safe about everything but was enjoyable enough

only 2 of the Oscar-nominated movies are even in my top 10 from last year https://letterboxd.com/carter_sauce/list/top-10-of-2018/ (tho I still haven't seen Star is Born/Green Book/BlackKklansman)

Watched How To Train Your Dragon 3 today. It was blah, but then again I didn't see the first 2 and had no connection to any of the characters. It was a boring love story and I just didn't have any interest in that.

I only saw the first one but it was unbelievably boring to me, I'm still surprised how popular it got

Free State of Jones. 6/10.

Drug on a bit at times. And felt unrealistic for some reason. Good story tho.

I've decided to get a Starz trial to watch some Pixar movies that I've skipped on over the years. Last one I think I saw was Wall-E a very long time ago.

First up was Inside Out and I can honestly say that it's up there as one of my favorites. Mental health is a very difficult subject to get right, especially in a fuckikg kids movie, but they nailed it. It hit close to home too as I was also 11 when my mom took me out of my favorite school and I ended up moving somewhere I hated.

Rodney is a great guy. Oops, nevermind he's a terrible human being.
He likes his sandwiches to be Turkey and Swiss. Triangle cut. Let vern have his crust. Poison the part Rodney eats.
