You're ignoring what he's saying and arguing if he's going to be remembered or not, which isn't a relevant argument, or necessary, everyone is going to be forgotten at some point.

My point has been that some get forgotten waaaaay faster than others, even if they are celebrities. What I'm saying is Hugh Hefner is going to be a difficult Trivial Pursuit question pretty fast comparatively speaking.

yeah, my real point about muddy waters is that of course he had a lasting impact, even if most of the people impacted aren't aware of his existence.

and i was making that point to suggest that hefner has already had a lasting impact, even if people do magically forget his name in a decade. unrelated: 2007 was a decade ago.
