Alia tightened her grip on the long sword. Her leg pulsed, but her rage fueled her through the pain of the wolf's bite. She remembered the wolf and the woman in red in the distance. She remembered how they'd fled the giant and how they stood together looking on when she had taken its head. She watched as the wolf ran back to the woman, as if it had been beckoned by her to attack.

The woman in red must be some sort of beastmaster. Near her she could see another animal. She did not think fighting all three at once would be wise. The woman looked bloodied and bruised from the giant's wrath. Alia knew what she had to do if she was to survive this battle royale. There can be only one.

In her heart she hoped by killing the beastmaster that the creatures would flee, but she was resolved to end them as well should they stay and fight. Taking on all three at once... She shook her head. She had to kill one quick. Her rage still powering her, she moved with deadly intent, aiming to take off another head and to even the playing field.

Using all of her momentum, Alia drove her blade through the beastmaster's chest, impaling her with one brutal stab. She felt the tip of the sword exit out of the red woman's back. It shook her, but Alia knew she could not risk fighting so many at once. This had made her decision for her. She ripped the sword free, and in one quick strike, she moved to cut off the woman's head.

The longsword sung with electricity. The sky itself seemed to shake. There can be only one. Power coursed through her. More!

Alia looked down at the body, then back toward the wolf. "You should not have engaged me. You should have run while you had the chance."
