Just finished watching Bird Box.
|
It was.. alright? I guess.
The premise was fun and there were some fun moments but overall it fell kind of flat? And the writing was rough and cliche. But the acting was really good in it?! Just bad dialogue. I don't think I'd watch it again but it was fun for what it was. Just kind of unoriginal. |
|
My wife liked it. I haven't seen it yet.

Watched the quiet place again on Xmas eve. The bad science/ logical disconects that bothered me a little the first time, bothered me a lot the 2nd time.

I have problems with this in all movies. Drives my wife nuts.
One of the reasons I have issues with musicals. I mean, WTH just bust out in song?

The Florida Project
v good, definitely a step up from Tangerine while still maintaining a very similar humanist feel. Never seen Dafoe in a subdued role like this which was interesting
|
That part of the ending where Moonee knocks on her friend's door was sad as shit, that actress did such a great job. It was the one time Moonee's childlike optimism was stripped away which made it all the more impacting. Even the final shots weren't much to counterbalance that since that definitely felt like a fantasy and the real ending was likely them running to some place in town and pretending to be in DisneyWorld for a moment while child services closes in on Moonee |

I watched Halloween, The Nun, & The Last Jedi recently.
Halloween was really well done.
The Nun was kind of a let down.
And The Last Jedi was alright. I really need to watch more of the originals, I think.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
v fun! All of the alternate Spider-Man personas were great and I liked all the little winks at other Spider-Man movies/comic formulas in general
I thought it looked really bland from the trailer but glad I gave it a shot, Lord & Miller's writing style is always so fun. Definitely had a similar FEEL to the Lego Movie
