It wasn't phenomenal but it was still good - very intense second half for sure, which really made the movie for me. Also some great footage of Praha, which was one of my reasons for watching. And interesting WWII history which I didn't know (WWII Nazi subject matter is always a plus), and good cast.
GOOD STUFF, even though there was a lot about the ending that made no sense. I will say Three Billboards was def better tho, you could tell this was his first movie

Haven't seen it, but you are a Prague fan?
How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat?
We saw the end of Girls, Guns, and Gambling last night and it looks like fun, so we recorded it's early morning showing to watch tonight. It has backstabbing, guns, chase scenes, crooked cops, and Elvis impersonators. What more do you need?

Yes, one of my fave places.
We've been talking about going back again- love it. We stayed in a little pension near Vysehrad on our first trip through, then drove around the country for a couple weeks, then swung back in and stayed closer to Old Town Square. Of course when we went through, they told folks to watch for local pickpockets in the guidebooks and since I was in all black wearing a motorcycle jacket, all these tourists kept an eye on me the entire time we were there.

It was a p big disappointment for me. I went with V HIGH expectations since 3/4 of Kaufman's movies rank among my favs AND Dan Harmon was involved (although I think he just produced) but it fell a bit flat unfortunately. tbh I've forgotten a bunch of it at this point but I just remember it being like an overly depressing version of Lost In Translation. Which isn't TOO nonstandard for Kaufman considering how depressing Synecdoche was, but that worked way better for me and felt like it had more of a POINT to make
It didn't really do much for me overall. A few good emotional moments and some really laugh out loud funny bits but it didn't come together in a way I'd have expected from him. I've always been wanting to watch it for ages so it was kinda built up for me
Thought the most interesting bit was around the middle when his face started spazzing and later fell off, then I think he broke the fourth wall and referenced being animated or something? I might be making that up. He started to acknowledge everyone else sounding the same after the meeting with the hotel owner and I thought it would get into some Adaptation level stuff but it went mostly nowhere. BUMMER!
I like Tom Noonan tho and his voice was perfect for everyone. This cast list on Wikipedia made me lol
Quote
David Thewlis as Michael Stone, an author and a customer-service expert with a mostly negative attitude. To him every person sounds the same except for Lisa who he perceives to be different.
Jennifer Jason Leigh as Lisa Hesselman, an insecure, lovely, and sweet woman who came to the hotel to attend Michael's talk about customer service.

We stayed at the perfect place - it was pretty centrally located. We also had a roof top patio and a great view. I'd go back. The only thing that was a little scary was the train - both trips were long and confusing, we had to change trains but almost didn't know because of the language barrier. But once there, it was so great, what a beautiful city. Sorry. Wrong thread but oh well.
The wife wanted to watch the new Jurassic World. I really didn’t but hey, give and take ya know.
Of course we had to rewatch the first one before we could watch the new one.
I really don’t care for dinosaur action movies but I put on a happy face.
The first one was mediocre at best. For me watching Bryce Dallas Howard is just painful. Everything about her annoys me. From her dismal acting to her voice. But I made it through.
Started watching the new one. Was immediately turned off by the Captain Planet Dream team that must save the poor dinosaurs from the evil war mongering capitalists who would sell their own mothers for a buck, over worked cliche’ of a story line. And there was BDH again. I fell asleep about 30 minutes in and never gave it a second thought.
