The role Josh is claiming doesn't really make sense to me. So he can poison two players once in the game, and the SK can recruit him if he is targeted, but once the SK dies he just becomes a standard survivor?

It sounds like some bullshit he came up with to either troll us all, or something he hoped would make us consider him a non threat and go for someone else.

That said, if he were Mafia I figure he would have made up a town fake claim. And as Herm pointed out, Cavin's victory condition appears to support what Josh is saying.

I lean toward believing that he is indeed 3P, but I don't think he was honest about everything.

If we're going to assume there are at least 3 mafia left, and also that Josh is telling the truth, then at least one of the claims that are out there are fake. So I'm going to be very strict with who I consider 100% town with this list:

Town:

Lamps - The only one here I can say for sure I don't believe to be scum.

Scum, Least Likely to Most Likely:

Penner – Claimed Tracker, potential scum tracker but unlikely.

Mittens – Pushed the Brian lynch hard, I have a town read on him

Herm – Suddenly looking much better following his motivator claim

IM – Vanilla

Cody – His claim looks good to me. Think he's less scummy than Nav, though I still read both as town.

Nav – Bus Driver. Could be scum busser, but he didn’t exactly do a good job if so. Got his teammate killed N1 if that is the case lol.

Timmah – He seemed to be very genuine with his scum hunting early on. Not sure about him at the moment, hard to get a read on him as always.

TIB – Vengeful Townie, apparently. A scummy claim that I’m not sure what to make of.

I think the motivator is town.

I was going to ask why scum!penner would out the SK, but then I remembered I just told Josh to do a similar action to gain town trust.

So I said this, instead.

My only analysis would be off of Day 1 lynch counts - which leads me to believe im317 and Nav are quite possibly scum.

Also if I were Josh I would’ve poisoned two mafia members to look pro-town.

At the time, I was still banking on becoming a SK and watcher/doc seemed like a better option to take out in case it happened.

But now I'm just waiting for my imminent doom.

Pretty sure Herm said he used his motivation on farlig N3 and N4, so josh poisoned both on his own

Tinfoil hat would be that josh and Herm are scum together though
