I really liked O Brother. Mainly because it was different.

characters I find interesting for starters I guess

That's where vocals can change things. I tell you I would not have enjoyed the movie had I heard the newer English dub- these things have an effect and can make it harder to get into a character.

Granted, the movie is in many ways a reaction to nuclear war potentialities. Having lived through the 80s and worrying about the balloon going up, that has a huge effect.

Japanese audio with English subtitles, I hate dubs

Oh shit- the original dub is so awesome, though. You miss classic lines in there that get lost when you read them, like

"Gentlemen, we're going to the Olympics!"

But the story itself is awesome and a much shortened version of a 36 or 37 issue manga. You have cyberpunk biker gangs, government experimentation, messiah complexes, and Tetsuo creating a new universe. What's more to want?

And a good dub can be fantastic- the Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop folks are now iconic in those roles.

The Cowboy Bebop dub is great, the show itself is overrated IMO, it's good but that's it.

The Steins;Gate dub is supposedly great too, it localizes references and shit.

I love Bebop, but it has a lot of similarities to Firefly.

Watched Locke with is basically Tom Hardy in a car for an hour and a half making phone calls.

Having said that I actually enjoyed this movie. Hardy pulled it off, which i can't imagine was very easy.
Good emotion, decent storyline, plus a quick watch.
Def wouldn't have seen it in any theater, but on Netflix worth a little watch.
Rodney is a great guy. Oops, nevermind he's a terrible human being.
He likes his sandwiches to be Turkey and Swiss. Triangle cut. Let vern have his crust. Poison the part Rodney eats.

The Meg - dumb but not fun dumb which was its biggest crime. I got Piranha 3D (fun dumb) vibes from the trailer but the movie didn’t live up at all. I guess it was supposed to originally be a hard R but the studio hacked it down to a PG13 to appeal to more people and its super noticeable. No gore at all, lame death scenes, and only a FEW death scenes, none of which were creative. Too many survivors. Also bland characters

Basically not what anyone wants from a movie like this

SKIP ITTTTT

Watched Tag last night.

I give it a 6.5/10

Was entertaining through out. Quite a few really good laughs. And Surprisingly it wasn’t full of cussing and gratuitous nudity. There was some but it was within context and worked well.

Thanks Ahoda.

Spider-Man Homecoming

This might honestly be my favorite Marvel movie. I watched Infinity War as well prior to this and enjoyed this much more. Most definitely my favorite Spider-Man movie, if nothing else. Keaton was great as Vulture and I'm a big fan of them pulling out villains like Vulture, Shocker and Scorpion rather than parading a Goblin around again.

My wife watched something called tusk last night. I saw bits and pieces. It was truly awful in every way.
