School of Rock

FUN FLICK. Jack Black kills it. I don't know if the movie was developed with him in mind or if it's just perfect casting but the movie was basically made for him

Agreed. Him being a music guy makes you think it was written for him.

But it’s very entertaining and a fun movie.

It's the only movie I like him in.

Escape from New York

nooooot that into it sadly! I wanted to be, I love Kurt Russel and was very much down to watch him do his thing and just kick everyone's ass. Snake was a good character but not the classic badass I was hoping he would be. Could've used some more typical 80's action or something, there just wasn't ENOUGH

Finally got to see First Reformed

P GOOD. Not as great as I was hoping it would be. Pretty strange at times towards the end. It's a movie I'd like to read a lot more about, maybe I'd appreciate it more then

Ethan Hawke makes the movie really

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Good stuff. Redford and Newman are the reason to watch for sure, I became an instant fan of them both. I've seen Redford in All Is Lost and Newman in Road to Perdition (they were both great in those two movies) but that's it, none of their older stuff. I definitely wanna watch The Sting now

Finally got over my issues and watched the live action Ghost in the Shell. It was... fine. Maybe if I wasn't comparing it to the anime I would be less critical of it. They mixed elements of the original movie with SAC Second Gig, along with some stuff pulled out of nowhere.

Newman - Cool Hand Luke, The Hustler, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Harper and of course, The Sting.

Redford - The Great Waldo Pepper, 3 Days of the Condor, All The Presidents Men, The Natural

For GF birthday we went to see the Meg

For the record, never a movie i would want to pay money to see.

It's Jason Statham fighting a Shark. I mean, go in knowing that and you should set the appropriate level of expectation.
It was just ok. She liked it.
Spoiler+

All in all skippable but what did i expect?

I wish i could remember my fav exchange but it went something like this

Suyin: What do you think we should do?
Statham: Are you really interested in my opinion for once?
Suyin: No. I'm just asking you before i tell you what we are actually going to do. That way you feel better about yourself.
Rodney is a great guy. Oops, nevermind he's a terrible human being.
He likes his sandwiches to be Turkey and Swiss. Triangle cut. Let vern have his crust. Poison the part Rodney eats.

How it Ends. 2018. I think it’s a Netflix Original. I gave it a 3/10.

The wife picked this one. The trailer looked ok and it has Forrest Whitaker so I was like Sure. But I warned the wife that ALL of these apocalyptic type movies end the same ....... very disappointing.

This was no different.

Pretty decent movie til the ending. Which was non existent. I think the last 5 minutes were written by the Lost writers.

My girlfriend and her brother both screamed "Is that it?" at the ending.

I was disappointed in the whole thing.

And btw makes me remember this. All these stories where the person travels miles and miles over wastelands to reach a loved one..i mean it sounds great and we'd all like to think we'd do it, but the reality is they should have been killed along the way and then what good would that do?

I know you can't make a movie where the hero sits and home and hopes everything goes ok but still.

When the tornadoes hit Bama years back and i had no electricity or gas and was traveling to stores with generators to charge up my phone for the day, I finally got ahold of my dad who was only 1.5 hours away and totally safe. He asked if he should come get me. MY response
"No. We have no power and little gas. Most likely you'd be stranded here."

And that's the truth.

Saw Jurassic World last weekend.

Terrible terrible movie. I'm sure Curtis already posted but the movie was so bad it's not worth me going back and finding the post.

I always think it's funny when 2 people get together in a movie then the sequel has to break them back up so they can find that romantic tension again for the second movie. Oh wait i hate that idea.

Save money and just go back and watch The first one again. And by that i mean World or Park, either of those are much better.
