Rodney is a great guy. Oops, nevermind he's a terrible human being.
He likes his sandwiches to be Turkey and Swiss. Triangle cut. Let vern have his crust. Poison the part Rodney eats.

How do people feel about role reveal rules? I don't recall this being much if a thing before I left but it's pretty standard now. You can say what your role is... Like say vanilla or doctor... But not who your themed role is.

I get this on one hand... Because players with more knowledge are in a better position to lie or it bolsters a convincing claim for some but not others...

But at the same time I wonder if it makes things a little too generic in a way? Like it's almost like for the players the game is entirely themeless. Other than the host interjecting some flavour at the start of day and the Lynch flip.

Like Brian's game was a lot of fun to me because it both didn't restrict players revealing info but also didn't give one player more info than another because a role could be anything from anywhere. So the flavour was very on brand even if it wasn't very narrative focused.

I'm just curious if people have a preference on this sort of thing.

It depends on theme. If you're running for example, a GI Joe themed game, and you allow character claims, you're screwing over the scum. If you're going to allow character claims you should give scum safe claims to use so town can't have the game solved on D1.

Couldn't another solution be to have the characters in whatever theme be randomized into their factions, same as how roles are randomized. So like Mickey Mouse could be a Mafia Godfather but Mini Mouse could be like a Town Jailkeeper.

Could work but I personally would want that to be reflected in the plot of the game... Like everyone is hypnotized or... Generally characters who don't neccisarily need to be considered in one group or the other. Like if there was a Mario kart mafia or something.

In other news I am going next I'm holding onto to that

Summer Camp Mafia 2
Expect a preview soonish

please Micky as godfather of a game makes plenty of sense. and Minnie could be naive town who does not see the corporate cutthroat for what he is.
