I'm very happy with the way Hank found out. I don't find it anti-climactic. Walt was so careful with everything so I love that something so very small is gonna lead to his downfall. And I loved the flashback and the way it was edited. I don't think the scene would've been the same without it
Eh, I dunno. I don't think it was that small. You'd think that Walt would immediately throw away everything that could connect him with Gale as soon as he died, but I guess that can be attributed to his well-documented HUBRIS
In the grand scheme of things it's pretttyyyy small. He was on the other side of a meth lab wall from Hank at one point, had to pull off a caper at a police station, and all this other shit. This is tiny in comparison
Also I really thought the list of 9 names would fall out of one of the pages when Hank flipped through it
I sometimes wonder if he WANTED Hank to find out that it was him all along. Throughout this season he didn't but back then it seemed like he did and he could've forgotten to tie up this loose end.
God I wanna see Walt taken down so badly. I just watched the last two episodes back to back so they've blended for me a bit.
The scene with Todd learning the trade in the previous episode where he says they caan talk money when e gets it right... something about that scene gave me chills. Todd isn't exactly likable or rootable in any way. He seems pretty slow and just eager to please, and it was pretty mortifying realizing that that was the last person Walter hasin his business... someone who will do whatever he says, hangs on his word, and has no opinions or votes. Todd is like someone who will just do whatever he's asked and nothing else. He's so SUBMISSIVE and blank in comparison to Jesse or Mike or anyone else Walter has had to work with. He's found someone who'll just be his bitch and that was probably one of the most disturbing things for me while watching.
I was also really PROUD of Jesse for walking away without the money. His life still sucks and he has nothing, but he at least got away from walter and shut him up. It was a SMALL VICTORY if nothing else. And then Walter brings him the cash anyway. Talking about old times with a big :D , but the fact that he dropped him the money, it was like one last attempt toget in a victory. I think on some level maybe Walter actually did want his old pal to get his cut, but mostly it felt like one last small victory over Jesse.
Also, I loved Hank and Walter's scene where Hank talks about his old job marking trees, then says its better than chasing monsters. The devestation and shell shock of hank trying to cope with 10 brutually murdered witnesses on his watch, losing ground in the big case and seeing that absolute horror, and trying to talk it out to his brother in law and friend, then dropping that line about monsters, and Walter knowing full well what Hank was talking about and just smiling and saying he liked going camping. That was fucking COLD. Both the complete lack of empathy and the fact that there was NO REFLECTION on being called a monster.
lol how Jesse find out about the ricin vial? And I don't see why Skyler would be looking behind the outlet... and if she did she wouldn't know what it was anyway.
I don't think it's a 'loose end' that'll haunt Walt at any point, I think it's either a red herring or a drawn-out Chekhov's gun, probably the latter.

do you refer to the dinner they were having when walt drank a little more than usual? hank basically said something like 'gale is a genius' that night and walt was just pissed about that. AGAIN someone else was getting credit for something HE invented. and walt was drunk, so he just spoke from the heart there. lol, considering walt crashed his car, with hank in it, i doubt walt wanted hank to find out rly. people die in car crashes jeffrey. walt risked his own life to keep the secret, a secret. (:
