Watched The Ladies Man.

Such a great SNL character. Tim Meadows is a good actor in movies as a secondary character but not a lead. Still, I enjoy this flick. Love the music and Billy Dee!

The Princess and the Frog - One of many Disney movies I'd never seen before. I really liked that it was set in New Orleans, all of the voodoo stuff and the trumpet playing jazz gator. Was a p. fun one.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE.

It has some of the best music in a Disney movie IMO. It's so fun to listen to.

Ravenous (Les Affamés) (2017)

Saw this French Candian zombie movie getting praised over on the horror subreddit. Found it on Netflix and went in expecting another Train to Busan. I did not get that. It wasn't bad but it was kinda... boring? I dunno. I would say it was just a slow burn but it really wasn't. The spookiest thing about the movie is a huge tower of chairs stacked on top of each other that gets zero explanation. The visuals and atmosphere were on point though.

I've been wondering about hat movie and was it worth the watch. Sounds like i can def wait on it.

Even the whole "holy shit, I'm a goddess" moment was glossed over in favor of more action. I've seen snippets here and there but can't sit and watch it. It doesn't help I just see her as the female version of Superman (the big blue Boy Scout). I'll take a morally gray Batman anyday.

The original Bob Kane Batman was darker and morally gray. It got whitewashed when the Comics Code got instituted and you got all the goofy bullshit and kept like that until it started moving back towards the original concept in the 70s, with Frank Miller essentially bringing him fully back with Dark Knight Returns and Batman:Year One.

I don;t mind the campy Adam West, but even he knew it was all a big goofy joke when he was doing it.

Saw Pawn Shop Chronicles. Started promising and a bit funny, but fell flat in the third act.

Captain America: Civil War

I've not kept up with the Marvel movieverse and, frankly, don't really care for many of the ones that I have seen. But I thought this one was good. It was much more entertaining seeing the infighting, heroes against heroes, instead of all of them teaming up to take down whatever World Ending Alien Space Terror is trying to eat New York that week. Plus War Machine got fucked up and that's a huge plus in my books. I hate palette swapped superheroes.

Spotlight

prettyyyyyy good. Great cast. Liev Schreiber stole the movie for me, I kept looking forward to his scenes. Did not like Mike Ruffalo's accent in it at all

Overall very solid but didn't blow me away in any single aspect. Was kinda surprised it won Best Picture until I saw its competition which seemed relatively weaker than most years. Would've rather Room or Mad Max though, both better movies imo

The Ritual

Nothing groundbreaking but I really loved this. There was a sense of dread basically from the beginning until the end. And the creature design was really neat. And different. It looked like it would be a boss in Bloodborne or some shit.

Oh no, that disappoints me greatly. I really liked the first one and against odds was expecting this one to be at least on par with the original.
