Town Lovers typically aren't actively searching for each other, so third party was really the most likely option. Town lovers simply die when the other dies, at least generally.

But to answer your question Angi, they aren't. What the note was describing was not lovers. It was a third party role which was looking to find someone. Traditional lovers don't work that way
