O SHIT!

I actually predicted Hank would find out Heisenberg right before the end, but I didn't expect him to find out like THAT (: Kinda anti-climactic in a way tbh but I'm sure the actual showdown will be suitably epic

Kinda funny how Walt enacts a fucking MASSACRE to shield himself yet leaves a gigantic piece of evidence right in his home.

First, I'll say that I loved the episode's pacing. It reminded me a lot of ABQ in how months passed so quickly. And both montages were absolutely fantastic and among the best of the show (despite the SHANKIN' being pretty Godfather)

The episode as a whole though was pretty great. It took a bit to get going, mostly because a lot of the stuff in the early going was somewhat predictable. It really took until the meeting with Todd's uncle for it to start getting really good, and then it never let up.

The scene with Jesse is already one of my favorites. The shitty attempt at reconnecting through reminiscence, the smug, condescending smile that Walt gives after seeing Jesse put away his bong, and then the reveal with the gun. And Jesse's reaction to the money was horrifying, almost as bad as Walt's prediction last episode being right.

I also like that Skyler began to become more comfortable (or at least tolerant) of living as Walt's wife. It's DEPRESSING, but the fact that the life has become so normalized leaves her comfort totally understandable. And the fact that she seemed even remotely accepting of Walt near the end was awful, but totally consistent.

Finally, I like that Walt won, and got out. He no longer feels the compulsion to be the ALPHA because in his mind he was the best, and he succeeded absolutely. His demeanor at the dinner table was so jovial and seemingly genuine.

BUT WTF HANK

Nah, it was the hospital. It was immediately after he found out the cancer was in remission

Now that I think about it I think the cancer is DEFINITELY back. He quit the business after he found out because he earned a fucking mountain of money and he wanted his family to still remember him as a decent man when he imminently dies... but then Hank fucks that all up of course

Yeah, it's definitely back. That also explains his condition in the Denny's scene

this. Possibly my favorite scene of the ep.

For a second I thought Mike's body was in the bag the way Jesse reacted (:

So I liked the method of how Hank found out. It made sense for Walt's character and felt appropriately timed in how RANDOM it was. But I'm seeing people complain that Walt wouldn't just leave it around (in my mind he obviously would) and that it's convenient (fair point, but not one that really bugged me). The only criticism I can think of that I really agree with is that the flashback was pretty bad, like Wire pilot bad.

I didn't mind the flashback too much. It CERTAINLY wasn't as bad as Lost's Adam & Eve flashback!

I would've liked it better though if Hank not only flashed back to that, but they showed a Usual Suspects-esque connecting of the dots where every suspicious thing Walt has done runs through Hank's mind. That would've been really cool

He didn't hit it in this episode dumbass. Were you even watching? He hit it a couple seasons ago when he found out his cancer was in remission
