Game Night
pretty much just a comedy version of The Game, was p fun though. Jesse Plemons' character alone was reason enough to see it, he stole the movie |
Just saw it, probably one of the more consistently solid comedies in awhile. But I can’t really think of too many competitors tbh (:
Jesse Plemons was fucking hilarious, he’s great. I loved the end credits. Every character was pretty fun tbh, all pairs were about equally interesting. Wish we got more of the others at the end
Some pretty creative way of shooting some scenes too, stylish for a comedy. I liked the tilt shift shots and the long take with the egg

Frances Ha. This review nails it better than I can:
|
How do you review a film that paints the very picture of your own life & puts it up on the screen for the entire world to take a look at & reflect upon? There are going to be a lot of people who will find nothing great about this film & might even call it annoying or inadequate. And there is nothing wrong with those people. But there are also going to be many with whom this film will strike an entirely different chord & might become something really special if they find it beautifully capturing the little glimpses of their past or present lives. And there is nothing wrong with these people either. |
I liked it a lot. Greta Gerwig was great in it. She also wrote it and you can feel the huge influence it had on Lady Bird. This was much more relatable than Lady Bird for me, probably helps a lot that Frances was the same age that I am now but the situations and conversations in this were closer to mirror images of real life situations or real people I know

Watched Spy Who Shagged Me again last night because it was on.
Read years ago this film kept Heather Graham from becoming a porn star.

I love Anna Kendrick. Buffy and I are no longer friends. |
She was my least favorite in pitch perfect, but has been wildly funny in the other things I've seen her in.

I watched a movie about the guys who started National Lampoon. It was good, but I don't remember the name.

That dude who plays wolverine is so bad that it makes movies tough to like with him in them.

I wanted to like Van Helsing so much- the concept was interesting but the execution was terribad.

Effects were good, plus Kate B. and Josie Maran made it ok for me. Not as great as it could have been, but that happens more often than not when they do fsntasy, sci fi, occult type stuff. They take themes and premises that are so fantastic and shit all over them.

Good shit. So tense at times and everyone was great in it, especially del Toro
