It came out late August. Seeing as how Trent put NIN on hiatus for a few years there's not a whole lot to catch up on. It contains what is probably the worst NIN song ever conceived. Listen at your own risk:
Wow. The chorus vaguely reminds me something that I can't quite place.
The Fragile is the last NIN album I paid any real attention to. I think I heard a song or two from With Teeth but that's about it.
With Teeth was hit-or-miss for me, it felt more like a standard rock album rather than the industrial style NIN is known for. There are a few really good songs on it.
Year Zero was like a return to the electronic sound with a vengeance. Lots of glitchy effects. It's probably one of the better albums Trent has made since the millennium.
Ghosts I-IV is an instrumental album. Really long and I haven't listened to it that much. Sort of a precursor to The Social Network soundtrack.
The Slip-I dunno, haven't listened to it much. Some people like it but the tracks I have heard didn't do anything for me.
Hesitation Marks-I think it sounds more classically NIN than any other recent album. Even the artwork reminds me of the aesthetic from The Downward Spiral. I've only listened to it a few times but I enjoyed it.
Then there's How to Destroy Angels, a side project I didn't look into at all. The soundtracks to The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo I remember being pretty good as the movies were running but haven't listened to since. For TSN in particular I think it gave a very eerie quality to some scenes.
Honestly I didn't really pay any attention to The Fragile until the new album dropped and I wanted to get myself re-acquainted with NIN. I have no idea why I was ignoring it for so long because it's damn good. Everyone already knows that by now, but still.
Wow, I hadn't listened to I'm Afraid of Americans recently and it's pretty much a NIN tribute song. Is this the song that was in Lost Highway? It gives me that type of Lynch vibe at least.
