Movies I've Seen in 2018 #1:

Broken Flowers (2005)
Director: Jim Jarmusch
Cast: Bill Murray, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Jessica Lange, Sharon Stone, Frances Conroy, Chloe Sevigny.

It's funny that like half of the AHS-cast is in this movie, haha.

But yeah, it was great though! Murray's performance was fucking brilliant, it almost equaled his melancholic character portrayed in Lost in Translation (which is still my favorite film), he hit in all the right spots, and brought the dark-humor of Jarmusch's staple style to the forefront perfectly. It's the type of comedy that though you laugh, it reminds you that life is empty. He's a fucking great director, just not for everyone, haha.

We started watching Good Satan but it was a bit too crass to keep watching with the kids.

Any one else seen "Fences"? I did over the weekend ... not sure what to think of it. Good acting, story line was good, and sad, and etc.

Also ended up watching the first four Rocky movies the past 10 days ...

I've seen a production of the play and it was really good, but I never got around to seeing the movie. I should at some point.

I saw it back when it was in theaters. I liked it, but I was also exhausted by the end of it. I respect that they adapted the play to film without changing much, but it made me realizing that adapting theater to film can make the story drag a bit. It was hard to keep up with Denzel's character a lot of the time. Really fantastic movie and story though. I did really enjoy it.

I was a big fan of Fences. It wasn't something that needed to be in movie format but I would've never experienced it otherwise, and I'm glad Denzel didn't excise/change parts of the play just to make it more "cinematic". A+ acting/dialogue
