I went back to The Glowing Sea with power armour and a bunch of radaway and pissed it. I had more than a little help from a legendary weapon I have had in my inventory for ages but never bothered to use. A wounding minigun! Oh my god, it's ridiculously overpowered.
It kills Legendary Deathclaws and Behemoths in seconds. Kind of ruins the challenge, so I'm making an effort not to use it too much. Anyone else noticed this with wounding weapons? They seem too powerful to me.
I also finally did some settlement building. I love it. Very fun! |

I've gotten wounding weapons before but never any I actually use. My favorite legendary is the first legendary I got on my pistols character: an exploding 10mm. It one hits most stuff now that I've gotten the perks in demo expert and pistols, and most of the time I don't even have to aim. It's bad if you don't want to deal with friendly fire though.
On my first character I got a lot of plasma infused weapons. A sniper riffle I used constantly and a plasma minigun which I had to put away in the too powerful pile |

Speaking of powerful weapons, I got Deliverer last time I played but didn't get around to testing it until tonight. It didn't sound like anything special, but I heard people rave about it and it's a unique base weapon so why not

How does it compare to Fallout 3 and New Vegas?

Haven't played Fallout 3 so I can't compare it to that but compared to New Vegas, the single biggest problem I have with it is they force a character on you. In New Vegas, you have so much freedom when it comes to which faction(s) you align with and just generally what actions your character takes. Fallout 4 is more linear, there's no karma system, they force a voice on your character, and they force a backstory on your character
I do think the game's gotten better as I'm nearing the end though. It's definitely still a great game, just as long as you don't go in expecting an HD version of New Vegas
Also if settlement building's your thing then that's obviously the big new feature with lots to do. I haven't bothered with it though | |
