I'm happy to see Sandor again but every time I watch an episode and note the differences between the two versions I find myself uneasy. I have no idea why they need to change so much. Is it to do with contracting laws? |
|
Sandor's had the same actor, I think. Gregor's changed but I don't remember why.

I mean the differences between the books and the show. This one mainly
|
Sandor Clegane does not appear until much later in the book. He does not reveal Arya's true identity to to the Brotherhood Without Banners. Several members of the Brotherhood Without Banners are actually the last remnant of her father Eddard's personal guard that he sent out to bring Gregor Clegane to justice, and one of them, Harwin, recognizes Arya instantly. Harwin was actually present when the newborn direwolf pups were found in the first regular chapter of the series (after the first Prologue scene). |

The show is struggling a little with the sheer amount of characters.
It is early days though and this episode was really a continuation of the premiere in some ways. Fav scene was definitely Olenna talking to Sansa.

Ooooh, yes. I've been keeping the books and show mostly separate in my head (otherwise, I'll probably just be like "ARRRGH FUCK ALL OF THIS"), but yeah, I know what you mean. It's weird.
|
I'm not sure what the show's up to yet. When Sandor showed up, I was like "Wait it's too early!" but I'll wait to pass judgement on it until we see what happens after Sandor's line about Arya. I could expect the writers to have one of the Brotherhood guys go "Yeah, we know who she is. Mind your own damn business" and handwave their earlier behavior as humoring Arya or something. |

This one was really good. Was Sam talked about at all in the first episode, I felt like I had missed a scene.
|
My boy Jaime got his butt kicked by a girl. Dude just can't catch a break. All he wants to do is go back to tap his sweet ass sister. The foreshadowing with the merchant was great.
I liked the scene between Joffrey and Cersei. She is losing even more control of her son. Joffrey is so smooth working his moves on Margery.
Shae is turning into probably my favorite character. They focused too much on Tywin's threat though so I am worried if she is going to be dealt with sooner than later. |
Looking forward to next Sunday already! I am definitely considering reading the books this summer. I'd probably try to stay with the TV show though. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

Watching now!
- Bran looks a lot older
- Young Jacob appearance in Bran's dream
- THEON YOU FUCKED UP BUDDY! YOU'RE FUCKED NOW
- JAIME. MY BOY! I like the "We don't get to choose who we love" line. Adds a bit of a human element to him
- I like Joffrey/Cersei scenes. I love when Joffrey shoots her down.
- Margery is so hot
- The Catelyn/Snow story was really good
- I dunno who these KIDS are but I think they're supposed to be important
- I liked the intro of the brotherhood without banners. The arrow part was cool
- Shae is annoying 90% of the time
- I don't get where Theon is
- THE HOUND. MY BOY!
- I liked the Jaime/Brienne fight
P. good episode. Better than last weeks

Shae is not annoying. You are cray.
I forgot about the Catelyn/Snow story. That was a really powerful part. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

I agree with Curtis. Shae is terrible. Probably my least favorite character on the show. Her character is meh, but what makes it even worse is the fact that the actress is completely awful.
Anyway!
I really liked it overall. I wasn't expecting any huge scenes since there hardly ever are early in the seasons, but the set-up remains really enjoyable. I think my favorite scene was Sansa with the Tyrells. And Joffrey with Margery was great. It's hilarious to see her sexually intimidate him. "You can do whatever you want, you're the king!" "Y-yes... yes I am..." Margery is fast becoming one of my favorite characters. And yeah her being ridiculously hot doesn't hurt either (:
Seeing Arya again was great. It's kinda funny/sad how she was AGAIN about to meet up with her family, this time in Riverrun, but she gets diverted once again.
And the Bran stuff is pretty interesting. I'm not really sure why he in particular is so important if there's already other people with the Warg power, but we'll see. Maybe he's just more powerful than most or something.
Also I was so happy to see Jaime get caught. Finally something goes right for the Starks. It was pretty funny seeing him get manhandled by Brienne, even if he's in a weakened state.
