I gotta say, I felt bad for Walt when he said this business is all he has left. It's so tragic. Everything he's been working towards is gone now that his family left. The only reason he was doing all of it in the first place. The fact that I still feel sorry for Walt really proves how great this show is

Yeah, I understand that. The fact is that even if Walt has an out, there's no way that the straight life could ever be live-able again. He has corrupted all of his relationships to the point where a full return is impossible. Tbh this actually made me somewhat sympathetic to Walt, just for a minute. But his decisions are his own, and the only way he can even try to stop the harm he's forced onto his family now is to just sell his share of the methylamine.

lol hupu what you said made me think.....walt, all the hate he is "receiving"...yeah he's done questionable things, no doubt. he acts all scarface-ish and that certainly doesn't help him win sympathy contests a lot. but i still see him as a good man in all this. cancer man, fighting cancer since 08. or wait, was that maybe a metaphor for something else? stay with me here...

what if walt is really the HERO at the end of the show (instead of hank). thanks to walt, the cartell is dead. thanks to him, maybe phoenix gets cleaned out aswell. he took down a big chunk of the drug trade almost singlehandedly...with jesse's and the guys help.

at the end of the day he accomplished a lot in the fight against drugs, besides flooding the market with blue meth. though, the quality of it was "good" so the meth heads were at least getting high of kobe steak instead of just pork, metaphorically speaking. once walt is gone the blue meth rise will die down forever. and he took a lot of people down with him. yes his decisions led to a few innocent people biting the dust early, but in the bigger picture he's still a good man, a good husband, a good father. a man provides for his family, and if he happens to take down a drug cartell while he's at it. so be it. ;D

namsayin!? yes walt is getting ballsy, pretty sneaky at times, but thats cause he knows he's running on a clock, and because he steadily gets thrown back while pursuing the road to empire business. by drug cartells, the competition, the law, cancer, family. he's just trying to play the game "right" this time. if you want some of dat cake, you gotta get your hands dirty. you gotta bend the rules instead of playing by them. gotta make ruthless decisions, and be an asshole sometimes. it seemingly is a must. walt has gotten better at it over the years. he's on a high right now, he eliminated many of the haters, he's still standing. he might rly be "the danger" now. but rarely does he take innocents down with him. he's a good guy, and yes all that killing was justified. so shut up skyler about walt trying to talk it all away with some weird logic, that logic is actually solid so shut it. go drink some more wine.

well, walt....he has nothing to lose (literally) so of course he's going out with a bang. heisenberg against "the world". that finale will be so epic. it could go many ways. but yeah, to me walt is still a good guys, and still likable really. he got colder, yeah so what!? give him a break. he got stepped over, terminal cancer, his woman is cheating on him. and as i said, while he's causing a tsunami with his metastases-filled butterlfy wings he's done a lot of good for the community. walt is the man, i still like him. give him chance guys

While the net result of his participation in the drug trade may be beneficial (relatively speaking obv), the fact is that he does it purely for the selfish exercise of ego-stroking. He just wants to be on top now.

As far as the killing innocents thing goes, he is perfectly willing to do it as long as it suits his need. And he doesn't care when innocents die on his watch, even if their death wouldn't aid him even slightly (note the whistling scene).

Also,

he got stepped over, terminal cancer, his woman is cheating on him.

Walt's impending mortality led to him deciding to cook in the first place, along with the years of gradual emasculation/lack of respect. But he continued to cook even when the cancer went into remission. He wants to be THE MAN so much that he gives no consideration into how others may feel, save for when it can help him or hurt him. He's gotten so cold that there really isn't much humanity left in him.

So great. The park scene especially. Reminded me of Heat when they talk about only having a minute to get ready when you're about to get busted. Mike had to leave everything behind with such short notice but he was prepared for it. Great episode

HOLY SHIT THOSE LAST 15 MINUTES

Mike wanting to say goodbye to his granddaughter was so :( . And his death... wow. Shouldn't have used a half measure Mikey! That was a really bizarre scene. I don't know if it was good or bad really. It was pretty UNIQUE. It just kinda... happens. Don't really know how to describe it.

Oh and "you're goddamn right" at the beginning was amazing.

Man I have no fucking clue how shit's gonna go down next week. There's so many balls in the air currently. Can't believe there's only one episode left this year :(

Also: Walt offhandedly mentioning that he can get the names from Lydia anyway was cold as fuck. He just wanted to let Mike know that he still won.

this episode was great. fucking best of the season.

SAY MY NAME
"you're heisenberg"
YOU'RE GODDAMN RIGHT!!!!

I think TODD is gonna fuck shit up real bad! I think he's up to no good and is just trying to learn the formula from Walt... ???

MIKE :( But that scene was GREAT

I'm sure Walt will lie to Jesse/Saul about what happened no doubt.

Hank's plot is getting more interesting now that he's not allowed to work the case too.

Marie? WaltJR? lol

:o :(

srsly.....walter "say my name" white....you stupid son of a bitch. WHY.....just WHY.....'this could have been avoided'

i'm honestly upset....."SHUT THE **** UP, AND LET ME DIE IN PEACE!" ---> best last words ever. mike hated walt so it was just usual for him to interrupt walt i guess. of course this time it was different. walt knew damn well he better keeps his trap shut. i have taken some notes during the episode....but i will post those thoughts later.

yeah. that scene is de niro basically explaining the title of the movie (HEAT) to pacino (and the audience)

Vincent Hanna (pacino): My life's a disaster zone. I got a stepdaughter so fucked up because her real father's this large-type asshole. I got a wife, we're passing each other on the down-slope of a marriage - my third - because I spend all my time chasing guys like you around the block. That's my life.
Neil McCauley (de niro): A guy told me one time, "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner." Now, if you're on me and you gotta move when I move, how do you expect to keep a... a marriage?

Such a sad ending. They kept it spinning so long that it seemed like that would be avoided. I tried to remain hopeful but I guess it was inevitable. There's no way Walt can single handedly get into a place to finish off Mike's guys. Also working with Lydia is such a risk. I wouldn't be surprised if she flipped on him.

That's probably where Todd's prison connections come in
