I really don't want to have to rewatch movies 2 and 3 to watch this one.

Thought the 2nd and 3rd matrix movies were trash. Not really looking forward to this

Lawrence Fishburne isn't going to be in this according to him. Which is a bummer.

Some people say it's because Morpheus dies in the 2005 matrix mmo but if that's true that's weird as hell. Most movies these days ignore half of the previous movies forget supplemental material!

Well, the Wachowski's directed that game apparently, and Lana is writing and directing the movie so maybe.
Or maybe the new guy is Morpheus recast.

So the movie is out on vod and in theatres. I'm on the fence on how to watch this movie right now. It is probably better to be seen on the big screen, but not sure it's worth risking the crowd for it.

it was competently made and I never HATED it, but it just didn't feel like it had a reason for existing. And they even winked at this with all the meta stuff in the beginning ("Warner Bros is gonna make the sequels with or without us") but...just winking at it doesn't excuse not actually having a good story to tell. The fact that it felt like half the movie was just rehashing scenes from the original (whether literally replaying them or through loose reenacting) was a p bad sign A shame since I felt like they could've done some genuinely interesting things with the whole meta-commentary aspect, but it was more just a cutesy little thing they decided to include to reintroduce us to Neo 2.0

Matrix 2 and 3 were trash so I'm not surprised.

Watched it last night. It was probably the 2nd best Matrix movies, but that doesn't mean this was good. None of it really made sense and they had to have soooo many flashbacks so help the audience understand who the fuck some of these people are and that still didn't explain them all.

NPH and Groff were awesome though and they made the movie worth watching. This movie didn't need to be made. They were better off starting up a new trilogy or rebooting.

I haven't read the spoilers, but sounds like this is worse than 2 and 3?

I didn't expect it to be as good as 1, but if it's on par with 2 and 3 it's prob watchable.
