| No one in Wilkes-Barre wants to see anything remotely related to Wilkes-Barre. |
So I googled images of the town. Um, you weren't kidding. :\
From this pic, the bridge looks interesting but maybe that's not the case.

That bridge is right near the magestic Hotel Sterling, probably the coolest looking thing here.
The courthouse is pretty nice too and near there. But the current events in the area make painting that seem like some kind of loaded political statement. Hotel Sterling would be like that too...

so you need an idea to paint something? uhm...well draw a kid talking on an iphone, drinking star bucks coffee,carrying a gun, wearing female clothing, having a weird haircut and sh*t.IN the back draw the burning twin towers, an atom bomb with a korean flag on it falling from the sky, draw bankers above the clouds throwing down money from the heavens and call it...uhm...BYE BYE MANKIND, BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME! yours truly, the creator!

What we see here - the artist has so eloquently captured the moment that a simple question is answered. Wherein it ceases to be a question, and becomes new knowledge. Its transformation from the unknown to the known.
The question mark drifts from the dot that held it anchored to the ground. The artist obviously left out the complete transformation of the question mark, as the journey will be different for everyone experiencing this masterfully captured moment.
I also suspect he chose the left side of the canvas to depict this moment of realization to call to all our minds the left and right side of the brain. This theoretical knowledge now exists in the left side of our brains, for our critical thinking and reasoning skills to further ponder.
Minimalistic, thought provoking, genius. We will start the bidding at ten million dollars. | |
