I know way less about Mysterious Skin so that'd be my vote of the two | |

Tbh, I know you'll hate me tib, but Mysterious Skin is really one of those overlooked treasures that I always feel proud introducing to new people.
I don't quite have that same attachment to UTS despite absolutely loving that film. I think the cult-following it has gotten over the years has made it go a little more into the public eye than the director ever intended. So it's become less of a film that you can brag about introducing to new audiences as a lot of people already know about it (but maybe haven't seen yet). But still know that it exists. Whereas most people haven't ever really heard of Mysterious Skin.
So to keep this trend of doing lesser-known films, I'm gonna go ahead and do Mysterious Skin for this round. | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

Although i just read the description and uh oh | Rodney is a great guy. Oops, nevermind he's a terrible human being.
He likes his sandwiches to be Turkey and Swiss. Triangle cut. Let vern have his crust. Poison the part Rodney eats.

yep, although I do want you guys to go in as blind as possible. I will say this is a very uncomfortable watch that can be a little too confrontational for some people. There was a lot of controversy when it premiered at Sundance. But it's considered one of the best films of the 21st century for a reason.
Just try and separate art from personal feelings. Kind of like what you do when you watch movies like A Clockwork Orange, Salo or on a lighter note; The Florida Project. It's a humanist story about the worst of human kind. So it can get pretty dark. | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

I’m the other way around. I’ve known about this movie for forever, yet never knew there was a book until after the third time that I saw it. Just ordered it actually, planning on binge-reading it as soon as I get it even though I know I’ll be fucking depressed, haha. Am super fucking stoked though. Never heard any complaints about how the movie handles the source material, most people were very pleased, and plus, I can’t praise it enough; the soundtrack on the movie is one of the best of all time imo. If you’re into melancholic ambient/shoegaze.. then man, you are in for a treat! | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'
