I'm not too informed on the nuances of the situation but from what I know, he's much more of a hero. Whistleblowers are important for any corporation/nation, if everyone just stayed in line then corruption would never end

There is a process and proper channels for whisteblowers to go through. Instead of haphazardly leaking everything and endangering american troops/secrets that our enemies can use against us. There were thousands of documents that had nothing to do with surveillance

You're arguing semantics as this point. Was he a Russian that came in and infiltrated NSA, definitely not.
Was he recruited by Russia and defected, yea. Traitor, most definitely.

This Russia talk seems to intensify for each passing month.
