Liked:
Pedro Pascal, that’s really good casting. Didn’t mind that he didn’t take his helmet off at all, I guess people are bitching about this. Suits the character way more to keep it on for now. His voice fits well anyway
Fun to have an older and tbh less attractive cast in Herzog/Weathers/Nolte. Not a bunch of mactor hunks and babes running around
I liked the Western vibe more or less. His character as an Eastwood type is a great angle to play
The look and feel of the creatures and ships and towns and cantinas were spot on. Classic Star Wars. I even saw ANIMATRONICS! I love it
TAIKAAAAA. I hope his droid will be rebooted and back
Didn’t love:
Thought the direction was kinda lacking. I wish it was James Mangold (Logan) like it was originally gonna be, that would’ve been perfect
The pacing overall was weird to me, especially in the fight scenes. We sorta just got whisked from one to the next and none of the three were particularly tense or interesting. If you’re going for a western vibe you need that TENSION! I can see this getting better as they change up directors though. I want a True Detective/Daredevil style one take fight scene real bad
The end with the Yoda creature was fine but my dad overhyped the shit out of it before I watched. “THERE’S A CRAZY TWIST THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING!!” lol ok DAD, relax
So overall well acted and produced and looked really good but will hopefully nail its directing and pacing and writing and style as it goes. I’m optimistic

Since the only two we've seen of the species were both on the Jedi Council, I'm guessing they're all naturally very connected with the force and that's why the "baby" was hidden.
No idea where they're going with it though.

Was slow but interesting. I don’t see why all the Star Wars nerds are so hyped about it tbh. I love Star Wars but this didn’t give me a chub |

I think I'm in the minority that thought Pascal was p underwhelming. Though that's definitely partially due to how underwritten he (and every other character) is so far. Kinda seems like it would've been a good idea to give us something to CARE about right away with the character we're about to be following for the entire show
And yeah to Curt's point about the direction, apparently this was directed by the guy that did the Clone Wars cartoon and this was his first foray into live-action, so I guess it's EXCUSABLE. I'm surprised Favreau didn't direct it considering he had a big hand in this series, but apparently he's only a writer for this season. At least we have Taika directing the finale

Star Wars fans are hyped about it because we've played KOTOR and know what it means to be a Mandalorian.
The scenes where he just walks into a cantina and everyone immediately just shut the fuck up around him were such amazing parts to really sell like... This guy is known for just straight up murdering people.
