I don't know how I drive manual but I want to learn, it would be handy and cheaper if I ever got a standard car

I recommend stick for sporty cars but not for anything else. Resell value is higher in automatics.

I can do both but don't drive much. My wife can do either and is awesome- we get manual in foreign countries because it's often a cheaper rental and she's left handed so being on the opposite side of the car shifting with her left feels even more correct to her.

I love how the older crowd knows how and the younger ones have no clue.

You kind of have to go looking for manuals nowadays. It is getting more difficult even foreign.

I've been taught but if I had to do it without help, I would struggle so much.

I also haven't actually driven in about 7 months so maybe I don't know how to drive at all anymore

If you trailer a lot, or do the majority of your driving on the highway, standard is the way to go.

No. The first vehicle I had was a manual pick up truck Mr. C bought for me. He tried teaching me in it and he's a terrible teacher and I thought I was gonna die so I told him hey let me drive your fucking car.

Someone bought you a truck and instead of learning how to drive it, you bitched until they gave you a different car? Punch yourself in the face, immediately.

Unless I misunderstood that situation, then you can punch me in the face.

If you live by Spin, you should move regardless.

I would just bug him until he built a taller fence, tbh.

I learned to drive both and still enjoy when I jump in a car and it’s a manual. I pretty much only drove them until I was a year or two out of college.

I would fucking hate a manual in this town. Too many stupid drivers + hills everywhere. It'd be a nightmare and you'd have to replace your clutch almost yearly.

My wife did it, but you have to be god, given you can roll back into the car behind you if you aren't fast.
