Just finished it - aside from the amazing performances, the main thing that stood out was the eerie and brilliant soundtrack. Very beautiful at times - the final track that plays in the film was mind blowing. Very interesting ideas and the themes presented in the film were very thought-provoking and stuck with ya. A lot of unsettling images throughout - some straight up nightmare fuel. It knew how to create unease and tension without resorting to cheap horror movie cliches and gimmicks.

The ending was really fucking out there though. Didn't know how to process it but wasn't particularly satisified or unsatisfied if that makes sense. I was too confused to really have a valid opinion about it, haha. Need to let it process.

What I can say though is that the film was amazingly edited - the production value was superb and you'll most definitely leave the theater feeling unsettled in some sort of way. No matter if you liked the ending or not.

It's a good one - I'd recommend it!

edit: Just to clarify though this is a super divisive movie. Audiences were really split on it. I feel like if you're a fan of unsettling art-house horror in general (The Witch, The Shining, Rosemary's Baby, etc) you'll absolutely LOVE this one. But if you're more into the bigger franchises (Conjuring, Insidious, etc) you'll probably not like it that much. If you're inbetween though and enjoy both it can kinda go either way. Though this film does blend both factions of art-house and mainstream a lot better than films like Goodnight Mommy, Mother or The Killing of a Sacred Deer. So it's a bit more accessible.

I feel like it's one of those movies that you can't really be 'indifferent' to though, haha.
'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

'A Snoozefest'
'Not even a horror movie'
'It redefines the genre'
'This generation's Exorcist'

Decided against it.

We decided it might be too "weird" for us and went with something else.
