in all honesty i'd say i'm a tiny bit more aggressive than "I just go with the flow of traffic which may require the fast lane at times," but just on long trips.
gotta shave off that time! most of the time i am content to go with the flow.

i'm not qualified to drive an ambulance yet actually! they don't teach you that at school, i'd have to get hired at a fire department to be trained for that.
but i could tell you about driving limos or buses? spoiler: way more stressful than fun

Last week I was driving and a police car with its lights/siren on was behind me so, of course, everyone moved over and stopped. He came up behind this dumb driver who obv didn't notice him and stayed on the guy's ass til he moved over. No one was in the right lane at the time but the guy finally moved to the right and the cop passed him. Then, when we got up to the next intersection, we saw the cop just driving along without the lights/siren. The little shit just did that to get past a bunch of traffic. I hate when cops abuse their power like that. (And obv when they shoot people but this is about driving lol.)

I abide by the 'speed limit +10%' rule. This typically means I'm in the fast lane.

I go 4 over or 9 over. I use the fast lane to pass or to let vehicles on if it's clear.

Typically in town I'll drive the speed limit.
On the highway it depends. I'll usually drive 5-7 over. Though if its a 75 mph zone which was very common in Texas and is the speed limit of the HWY between Lawton and OKC I will usually just go maybe 1 or 2 over. Avoid going 80 overall.
I don't mind driving on the HWY between cities but when I get in the city and traffic picks up I get very anxious. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

How do you keep from getting run over in Texas staying under 80?

Well, the police in Little Rock must not own speed guns, as everybody goes 10-20 over in town. The main road I take to work has a 40 mph speed limit, and if you aren't doing 50, you are getting run over. Maybe that lackadaisical attitude by the police is offset by the fact that there is a speed bump about every 500 feet on most roads in this town.
There are definitely a couple of towns in northern Arkansas that are known to be notorious speed traps, which actually were sued and taken to the state supreme court. I don't think they can speed trap as much anymore (something about quotas and funding via tickets, etc.).

FUN FACT: supposedly the very first time my dad ever drove after getting his licence was an ambulance in a snow storm. Everyone in my town makes smart choices. | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

I'm the overly cautious driver that always lets people go and makes them nervous and confused, and drives slightly under the speed limit at all times.
