In this scenario, it's everyone is required to have guns vs no one is allowed to have guns. It's illegal for them to have them now, which is good! In the scenario they become required to have the guns, which is bad. That's why I said a larger number of bad people will have guns, because they'll be required to have guns.

Of the 2 scenarios, I'd make it illegal to own a firearm. Giving guns to the 40+ million people with mental illness seems like an extremely bad idea. "The bad guy has a gun" is a terrible excuse for arming psychopaths, schizophrenics, etc. | | |

I'm a gun fan, but I also think too many idiots already have guns, so I'd go with option two.
Also, the arguments about using guns against the government if it gets uppity are always cute.

I vote for the option with the Government taking away everyone's guns to keep them for themselves. | | |
